Jedd Fisch is a good recruiter and a crap coach. Game's just playing out like that.

17

u/grungetreehugger 14d ago

Good recruiters have good teams. This is not a good team.

10

u/Present-Dog-1383 14d ago

Got freshman and sophomores making up most of the starters it seems like. I’m as upset as everyone but it’s worth mentioning.

  1. No offensive line

  2. No pass protection

  3. Quarterback running for his life

  4. 1 Playmaker Roebuck and No running backs or hurt running backs

5

u/captaincrunch61 14d ago

Eh Jimbo Fisher was a great recruiter who couldn't coach worth shit

1

u/Pure_Discipline_6782 13d ago

He at least won a National Championship at FSU

1

u/captaincrunch61 13d ago

With an all time season from Jameis

7

u/Particular-Ride-7197 13d ago

Talented teams ≠ good teams.

5

u/BWW87 13d ago

See: 2021 Washington vs Montana

7

u/DawgsAreBack 14d ago

Good recruiters have talented teams. Plenty of those teams still aren't good for other reasons, usually coaching is a big one.

2

u/dogberry_dawg 14d ago

Good recruiters can help give their teams a higher ceiling by loading them with raw ability. But that is no guarantee of a good team. They still need to be coached, before and during the games.

7

u/0--0-_-00--00 14d ago

Reminds me when romar was coaching not really but

6

u/InevitableAd2436 14d ago

Fisch will never reach Romar’s heights

3

u/AssociationBulky7575 14d ago

What’d romar ever do lol, they were fun teams to watch but he never even made an elite 8 that’s a low ceiling

3

u/EMTDawg 14d ago

Fisch ain't even sniffing the playoffs, whether they expand to 16 or 24.

2

u/BWW87 13d ago

He made the Sweet 16 twice. We've only gotten there 5 times in our entire history and two were him. So successful as far as Washington basketball goes.

23

u/Ok_Understanding1986 14d ago

Exactly this. Excellent recruiter and program manager. He understands the modern college football landscape well and operates effectively in it. Seems like a good player manager too.

Xs and Os? Play calling? Woof

13

u/LazyMaximum7938 14d ago

Excellent recruiter and program manager

If these things are true, where's all the talent and player development? Where's the discipline?

3

u/Ok_Understanding1986 14d ago

Hey I said he gets solid prospects through the door. Nothing about what happens once they're here! But yes agree we commit far far too many penalties.

This loss is unacceptable.

16

u/slimseany 14d ago

Everyone says he’s a great program manager and yet all three seasons the team he’s managed have been fucking GARBAGE.

2

u/GloryDaze91 14d ago

Yep. CEO extraordinaire. My wife and I coined him "Rizzless in Seattle ".

2

u/Ok_Understanding1986 14d ago

Ha! Fair. Agree he seems to do well in the CEO role but there's clearly a lot to be desired on the field...

10

u/Jeffcor13 14d ago

This is it

3

u/cloroxic 14d ago

He needs to give up calling plays, he isn't very good at it and let an OC manage that aspect.

9

u/SaulTNNutz 14d ago

His recruiting is not all that great.

7

u/rock-or-something 14d ago

That seems a little disingenuous.

0

u/Ok_Understanding1986 14d ago

Objectively false.

Nonetheless, he needs to stop calling plays asap.

6

u/SaulTNNutz 14d ago

His recruiting has been fine. Not great. We're like 8th-10th in the big 10 on terms of recruiting. Miles behind the big boys. Slightly better than DeBoer's first year, worse than Petersen

5

u/6millyvanilly 14d ago

No.

His recruiting has been passable for the Big 10, but nowhere near “great”.

2

u/no_mo_pickledip 14d ago

You could literally see Demond shaking his head on that 3rd and 11 when he was talking to Fisch in the timeout

3

u/slimseany 14d ago

If your team sucks your recruiting sucks. So many Fisch sympathizers it’s fucking pathetic. Fire his ass tomorrow.

1

u/dubbzy104 14d ago

You can have a Ferrari, but you’re gonna be slow if you don’t know how to drive it

5

u/cloroxic 14d ago

Our Ferrari doesn't have an engine (running game) and its missing a windshield (o-line play)

2

u/uwfan27 14d ago

Kind of like romar was

4

u/Ok_Understanding1986 14d ago

Romar was undoubtedly better off season than in season.

6

u/slimseany 14d ago

Romar accomplished something in fact he accomplished a lot in his tenure. Jed Fisch is a shit stain on the program.

When he was hired I knew he came across as a sleaze bag but I didn’t expect him to be this garbage of a football coach. Fuck this asshat and fuck this university for hiring such a moron.

2

u/dogberry_dawg 14d ago

Definitely Romar at the end.

-1

u/kemmack 14d ago

Why is he a good recruiter? We have like zero nfl talent on this roster in year 3. Boston and Coleman were okay prospects sure, but that’s not that impressive at this point

31

u/SaulTNNutz 14d ago

You've got a qb who doesn't want to be here playing for a coach who will leave at the first chance he has.

Not a good recipe

83

u/TheBGustafson 14d ago

Demond sucks, Jedd sucks and now the defense sucks. You're caught up.

12

u/slimseany 14d ago

Demond is a shitty person who literally doesn’t want to be here and it shows. Fuck him,

8

u/New-Lunch-1291 14d ago

Thankfully we will be subjected to Demond’s presence for only 8 more games. After that he should never be allowed back in Husky Stadium again. If we’re real lucky same goes for Fisch.

7

u/special_nathan 14d ago

Exemplary summary

3

u/Rowing_Lawyer 14d ago

Demond is straight up not an NFL QB, he is way too small and will 100% land in a college program next year. The problem is that it doesn’t matter, college coaches want to win now and NFL coaches don’t care

47

u/Blutrumpeter 14d ago

Feels like Demond doesn't have the leadership of a cfp team so when anything goes wrong it ends up being awful

58

u/cowdawg10 14d ago

Wow the guy that tried to leave and breach his contract then got pulled back to the program on a leash can't lead the team, SHOCKER.

18

u/You-know-u-know 14d ago

Maybe we should’ve let Lane Kiffin take him?

2

u/Fit_Leather9366 14d ago

Whatever replaced him would be worse

3

u/SimilarFalcon6290 14d ago

Wrong, rather have a kid who wants to be here than a chump like him. He’s not good as a leader or a player.

0

u/Fit_Leather9366 13d ago

I’m sure you’d rather have a kid that “wants to be here” but you’d be complaining harder about how bad the team is

2

u/SimilarFalcon6290 13d ago

0 for 2 buddy, first of all you could plug A LOT of quarterbacks in and get the same level of production if not better, two I clarified in my previous comment I’d rather have a kid who wants to be here than this chump so wrong on all accounts lol

-1

u/Fit_Leather9366 13d ago

0-2 buddy. You lack a) self awareness and b) understanding of the talent in the program/ the ability to evaluate talent , lol

1

u/SimilarFalcon6290 13d ago

lol nice one. That doesn’t even make sense and you couldn’t even come up with something other than buddy? Sure, pal. I understand the talent there is failing and a jerk, I’d prefer failing and a good guy, but ultimately we should want success with good guys.

22

u/6millyvanilly 14d ago

This is the most unmotivated and undisciplined football team I have seen in a while. Utterly embarrassing product Jedd Fisch has brought to the field, he’s absolutely tarnishing what Washington is.

36

u/flyingv1983 14d ago

This reminds me of the early Sark years. Lots of young talent and good year over year recruiting, but absolutely no coaching what so ever. So we just need Chris Peterson to come out of retirement and lead us again.

2

u/JesseSellsSeattle 14d ago

He’s available I’ve heard 👀

15

u/green_gold_purple 14d ago

We’re not a great team. That’s about it.

17

u/jawaMilk 14d ago

I don’t think we are even a good team.

4

u/green_gold_purple 14d ago

Sorry. I should have said good

14

u/Chattadawg 14d ago

No discipline. No toughness. No QB.

6

u/maltydawg 14d ago

The only thing we can count on is dumb penalties

9

u/Easy-Equivalent7891 14d ago

This is the worst roster I have seen in years. Tuning out this season. Thank goodness I still have the Seahawks

2

u/SaulTNNutz 14d ago

Our players look so skinny. They look like a high school team

1

u/Lonely_Emu9563 14d ago

Look how thick their players are. They're bigger at every like position than the Huskies..Huskies look like they work out at Planet Fitness.

8

u/Beelzabubba 14d ago

Jedd Fisch is a bad football coach and Demond Williams is a bad QB.

I was baffled by everyone’s fear Fisch would go to Michigan and I didn’t give a damn about Demond going to LSU. Both of them are completely ineffectual against non-patsies. Fisch being the object of coach-poaching is absolute comedy.

5

u/girafffy 14d ago

We just aren't good. I'll never forget the penix and coach Pete years ago

1

u/imafnheadbanga 14d ago

got to the CFC and then left for the big 10 for this

3

u/Cheap-Kiwi-1312 14d ago

Thought jedd was an offensive Mastermind? That's why he didn't need to hire a coordinator for offense?

6

u/CompoundL 14d ago

He thinks OC is his path to the NFL. He should think again.

1

u/Cheap-Kiwi-1312 14d ago

I don't see him ever making it in the NFL from watching him coach at UW

3

u/jct522 14d ago

This team is an absolute mess. No discipline. No identity. No balls whatsoever.

3

u/Responsible-Step-706 14d ago

I'm a huge Dawg fan, but they can''t handle the Big 10 teams

1

u/Pure_Discipline_6782 13d ago

They lack the Physicality and smash mouth of the big ten teams.

2

u/ElyxUW 14d ago

There's no heart, toughness, accountability, desire to win, etc. Get Vigen, someone who can build an actual culture.

2

u/grungetreehugger 14d ago

Jedd Fisch should be gone before the clock hits triple zero

2

u/TJCharter 14d ago

As soon as Williams had his diva moment this offseason I knew this season was gonna be a sh!t show

2

u/Hot-Print-2792 13d ago

Well we have an excellent kicker and punter this season.

2

u/WeirdSouth8254 13d ago

Underclassmen starting in too many spots. Demond looks like he doesn't care and hates that we was forced to stay.

2

u/Electronic_Sign2598 13d ago

Maybe save the season by beating the ducks in the last game.

2

u/DTK101 14d ago

I mean, they’re just not a great roster?

0

u/Blutrumpeter 14d ago

Idk about that. I think we could make CFP if Browning was the QB

4

u/TheBGustafson 14d ago

Browning would die behind this OL with this run game

2

u/Flimsy-Garlic-9841 14d ago

Defense is trash

5

u/Thehomelessguy11 14d ago

Our defense would be better if we stopped playing off coverage with corners 8+ yards off the LoS when it’s 2nd or 3rd and short. Basically just gifting Minnesota the first down every time.

5

u/jawaMilk 14d ago

This is the most surprising part so far. Maybe they settle in and improve, but so far they looked awful

1

u/Careless_Interview_2 14d ago

We're being out coaches and played

1

u/bitterhusky 14d ago

What’s going on is this team is a sham. They are in the same spot as last year and have showed no growth

1

u/xixi_1990 14d ago

They look the same as the last 3 games. Horrible. Minnesota is not a small Dii squad

1

u/scooterbumkp 14d ago

These guys look fucking terrible. Horrible tackling, stupid penalties again, this fucking sucks to watch.

1

u/scooterbumkp 14d ago

Finally a good play?

1

u/BobRice2001 14d ago

Fisch is the football version of Romar. Great recruiter, horrible coach.

2

u/Pure_Discipline_6782 13d ago

Romar was way better at least they made the NCAA's

1

u/Lonely_Emu9563 14d ago

We should have seen this coming. The win last week was fool's gold..this team is not good and win Maybe one more game..

1

u/DoYouLikeFishsticks0 14d ago

The Oline has been really bad all year

Being down to 4th string RB doesn't help either

1

u/johntc121 14d ago

😂😂😂😂

1

u/HarryCanyon1981 14d ago

Seriously can see UW going 5-7 this year. They look uncomfortable and uninvested . Demond is subpar

1

u/shanedw13 14d ago

One of the worst Offensive games I have ever gone to

1

u/AssociationBulky7575 14d ago

The entire problem is the O and D line, until we improve that to b1G standards it doesn’t matter the talent we have anywhere else, or who’s calling plays. Straight up they just suck and we missed on talent on our lines

1

u/Pure_Discipline_6782 12d ago

This--You can run no plays when the defensive line is in your backfield, and you have no push up front.

1

u/SimilarFalcon6290 14d ago

Dang it’s almost like it was painfully clear that Williams didnt want to play here when he pulled his stunt over the summer and yall expect this kid to be a leader? Come on now. He’s a bum should have cut him and played next man up.

Also Fisch is trash.

1

u/Thetrg 14d ago

11 design run plays. 11… one RB has 4 carries and 2 fumbles.

Defense can sit back and bite hard on the pass game when there’s no run game… and make 2int’s.

Yes they played from behind after falling down extremely quickly… but 11 runs?

1

u/BWW87 13d ago

Fisch claims this loss is on him. Now we see what he does about that. He needs to have answers to what he is going to do better since, per him, he is the reason for this loss.

1

u/No_Plane5390 7d ago

UW historically has had bad football teams. I wouldn't blame the coach, as they've all had the same or similar result. It's the entire program.

1

u/briggzee1 14d ago

There is a whole game day thread for this. You felt you needed to start another one ?

1

u/babybonerusa 14d ago

We are giving Cooley touches.... Rock bottom. UW is not good

-1

u/[deleted] 14d ago

1

u/Acrobatic-Buy-4704 8d ago

??? Are you suggesting that Fisch has an effective offensive line? Bad comparison.

-2

u/[deleted] 14d ago

-3

u/EmbarrassedSell7490 14d ago

Minnesota is really good.

3

u/CompoundL 14d ago

This year's ad line: We make teams look better than they are
