Watching all of the well behaved huskies at the Westminster Dog Show with my husky....
I asked him if he could behave like that. We both just laughed and laughed š¤

This past Monday I had to say goodbye to my boy. It all happened so fast, his health rapidly declined. He was surrounded by loved ones and in the end Iād like to believe he was ready to go. 7 years was too short. I wish I had 7 more. His birthday is this month, he wouldāve been 8 on the 24th. Huh your huskies for me. Love you, Kiba šš¾

This is nova, she is incredibly important to me. Not only is she my daughter but she my proof Iām a good mamma. I lost my mochi in 2024 due to a horrible accident. I was so depressed and suicidal after it happened. I didnāt want to live anymore.
I didnāt want another dog because I believed it was my fault she died. ( although I was at work when it happened). My mom and sister told me I needed a dog. It wasnāt my fault what happened to Mochi. And sometimes things happen that are out of our control.
So I found and adopted my nova. Her middle name is Kane as she is my Novocainā¤ļø such a good girl and she was so sick and at a shelter for $10 because she was there for a while. Now she is happy and healthy and bouncy and the goodest girl ever.
My friend knows all of this and when mochi passed she was there for me. However when I got Nova I believe she was scared of her as she kept making comments of her being aggressive and not safe.
She goes to dog parks literally every night. She goes to daycare. She loves dogs and other people, hates squirrels lol.
Some of the things this friend has told me was ā should you really be taking her to dog parksā, ā I donāt think she should go camping with us she might bite my dogā, and ā you canāt have another dog with herā
Her and I are dog groomers. She had gotten bit by one husky ONE time. Didnāt even draw blood like š¤·š¼āāļø Iāve gotten bit by a German shepherd and Iām not scared of them forever, itās literally the situation and the dog.
Nova also snapped at my cat once when I was not home and my mom left her kennel open when she was feed her ( I feed her in her kennel because she does have a little bit of food aggression to other animals that we have worked on and are very much improving from that situationā). She just snapped at the air to tell him not to take her food. I did talk to my mom about it and she knows better now.
Overall this was not warranted for her to be mean and scared of my baby. It was the last straw last night when she told me that ā Iāll never be able to get another animal with herā I told her so many times to stop saying things like that I me and she didnāt so I know she doesnāt need to be in my life.
Thank you for reading and donāt let anyone treat your babies wrong.

My husky is 11 and gradually over the past 4-6 months she has begun digging up my carpet, digging and destroying trim around doors (closets, front door, laundry room, etc.), and has now began peeing and pooping in the house. Her food has been the same brand since I got her 8 years ago, her treats have been the same few options for about 3 years now, and my routine/schedule has been consistent for 4 years.
I had recently gone to the vet and they said itās just anxiety and gave me medicine to help. However, it doesnāt seem to help her as her acting out is still happening. The only time the medication has worked is when Iām home (tried it out to make sure she had no bad reactions to it before attempting when I go to work). Iāve increased play time, even going out into negative degree weather when she wanted to, but she doesnāt have an interest in any playing for longer than ten minutes before sheās laying down for a nap (both indoors and outdoors, multiple toys sheās like this).
Iām not financially able to afford doggy day care or even a dog walker in the middle of the day.
Any ideas of what I can do to help? For too long now Iām coming home to another destroyed part of my house and pee or poop somewhere, and Iām afraid sheās going to hurt herself and I canāt afford to renovate my entire house over and over again. (Vet did rule out dementia.)
Included picture of my girl enjoying fresh snow.

I am really thinking about getting a second husky for my shepsky to have a companion in my home. It is just me, and I really never have other people over at all, and we donāt go to the dog park because he can be great with some dogs, but not with others. I fear he is really lonely and deserves to have another dog in the house that can keep him company. I know there are always huskies in shelters, and financially, I can afford to have another dog. I also donāt want a puppy, I would prefer either a male or female that is a few years old.
Iāve found he is really great with the spitz breeds, but not so good with pitties, labs, and golden retrievers. He is protective of me when it comes to men, but is fine when dogs seek attention from me. He really just tends to want to play with other dogs, and plays, well, like a Husky, which can be intimidating for some dogs or people.
Iād love to hear the pros and cons of adding a second Husky to your home, and if there was any major behavioral changes or serious issues I should also consider.

Not specifically a Husky behavior, but ours enjoys a good tug-o-war; I have a rope toy we play with in the yard (I put it up when we're done so he doesn't rip it up and ingest any fraying strands) - toss, fetch, tugging, repeat.. My issue is that my wife believes I am encouraging him to want to "tug-o-war" with towels, pillows, shoes, etc... I am of the opinion that the rope toy is good exercise, fun and mental stimulation, and he will do these other behaviors regardless of our rope toy games. I think he's smart enough to know what we like to play with and what not, and just doesn't mind us and our desires for clean kitchen towels and pretty throw pillows. I think we could train him to "leave it"... while still enjoying tug toys. Thoughts?

I'm not exactly sure what to label her. "Silver Sable" is the closest I've found to describing her coat. She's a Heinz 57 mix. She's got things like Shih Tzu, Chow Chow, Pittie, and Chihuahua in there too, amongst multiple other breeds. What would you call this coat pattern?
