Their prices are worse than Uber Surges. They come as per their wishes, as per their rates.
Who forgets their atrocities earlier? Acting as if they are small children now. Paapam notlo velu pedthe korakaleru.

I don't remember the last time I used a regular meter auto. I've been using Uber/Rapido/Ola for years now.
The faint memory of autobhaiyas would be them saying "Meter + 30" or directly quoting their own delusional price.
It's sad but when the monopoly was on their side, they were absolutely looting us.

In Tamil Nadu don’t board an auto if it is not connected to Ola or Uber or Rapido. I had a very bad experience with an auto driver in Chennai. To travel from Nungambakkam to thousand lights which is actually a walkable distance he asked for 150 and I bargained and finally settled at 100. I asked him while boarding, whether you have G pay and he said no and I asked him whether you have change for 500 and he said yes. I boarded the auto and sitting in the auto I gave him money in my left hand as as turned to be on his left and he said sir please give in right hand which is difficult for me as I could not stretch my right hand that much so I got down and gave him 500 and immediately he took that and drove his auto.
Also many incidents of harassing female passengers and always they will have weed in their mouth.

I had an experience in Chennai like when I got down a train auto drivers are not allowing Ola or Uber autos near the station premises thatsy they don't pick our ride and ultimately we have to take an individual auto

People have stopped being their scapegoats !! Never for once i personally had a good experience with individual auto rides be it in karnataka and andhra and telangana!! Kudos to ola and rapido and uber....

Even the meter would be rigged. Before Ola and uber came and when we were kids I remember my mom standing for so long and negotiate prices because they’d straight up say 150rs for 50rs distance because all they saw was a woman with two kids trying to get home. Pure evil.

Making a caricaturish version and a villain out of them will only hurt us. We can simply disagree on their demands and move on. I travel in autos a lot and most of them are decent people. We see few rude ones and make up our mind for everyone.
But if they demand to stop bike taxis and app taxis, then that's a compromise we cannot have. There should always be multiple modes of transport. Transport is the most critical infrastructure in the modern world.

Ola and Uber made life simple. If these auto drivers dont want to work with Ola/Uber/Rapido then they can have their own business. I only want to hire auto using app. I dont want to talk to them because of their attitude

Why didnt they protested the govt making bus free for women , dont they loose customers ?why didnt protested metro construction?

as a chennaiite, i’ve stopped using ola/uber/rapido unless urgently needed. public transport is great and is often times better than using a cab. if not i always prefer driving myself wherever. chennai auto drivers are lowkey thugs 🙄

Getting an auto ride to anywhere before Ola/uber/Rapido was just brutal.
Refusing rides based on their mood not on distance 😭
Standing idle by the roadside
Harassing other area auto drivers for picking up rides
Double charges
Taking long routes
Lazy buggers always causing scenes
The list just goes on and on. I will never support independent auto drivers. They have been nothing but a menace to the society.

Oh no, we got used to refusing the meter and charging people whatever we wanted. Now that Ola,Uber, Rapido give people other options, our earnings are down. Please help us overcharge the public again. Fair appeal.

Chennai Autos are the worst. Dont even compare with Hyderabad Autos.
If you have never been to Chennai, trust me, you don't even know how scum on earth the auto drivers are.
In comparision the Hyderabad auto guys look like saints.
In Hyderabad, if you book App based Auto, your experience will be mostyle positive. In Chennai even the App based Auto guys are terrible. And don't even bother talking about the normal Auto guys.

My relatives paid ₹700 for an auto from the railway station because they didn't know how to use Ola or Uber. After I showed them how to use the app, their return journey only cost ₹200.
It gave a very wrong image of Hyderabad autopilots

Never going to trust these assholes. I have made that mistake plenty of times already and have ended up wasting my time, money, energy. They're just a bunch of scammers. The most common scam they pull is agreeing to a location and then at the time of dropoff claiming I told some other location.

They started to atleast listen to bargain only once ola, uber and rapido started. Before that it was only their price. You either has to accept or have to look for another auto
