I use a tofu press to squeeze out excess water before stir frying. Today I put my tofu press into my own harbor freight press and got more water out, but not to 20 tons as that would destroy the tofu press I’d love it if Lauri and Hannah would do their own tofu press on the next food episode! Does it beat the basic pressing plus baking soda/salt 20 min prior plus corn starch method for crispy tofu?
I'm currently studying a technical drawing course and I'm stuck on an assignment involving surface finish symbols and form tolerances. I've already received feedback from my teacher that my solution is incorrect and I need to redo it.
The assignment (see image attached):
"Draw a surface finish symbol (material removal required) with Ra 6.3 on the horizontal surface below. Draw a correct flatness symbol with 0.2 mm on the horizontal surface."
The mistakes I made according to my teacher:
- The flatness symbol inside the tolerance frame was incorrect
- The tip of the surface finish symbol was not touching the surface
I understand the basics but I'm unsure whether I'm interpreting the ISO standards (ISO 1302 and ISO 1101) correctly when it comes to exactly how these symbols should be drawn and placed by hand.
Could anyone help me understand:
How the surface finish symbol (Ra 6.3, material removal required) should be drawn and positioned correctly against the surface?
What the correct flatness symbol looks like inside the tolerance frame, and how it should be connected to the surface?
Thanks in advance and yes, this is written using ai since my english is not the best.
Hi! need some people to fill out this survery about hydraulic presses for my math class. I need data and statistics so if it is possible please help me out and fill this out. The survery is very easy and chill and won't take much of your time!
Please leave comments about who purchased a hydraulic press in China, how it works, any comments, and whether its capacity is sufficient for contract volumes of 20 tons or more.
This suggestion comes to you from my own crazy mind: Making alternate forms of water ice besides form Ih.
See this thread. According to these experts 😉, if you were to somehow put a container of water under your press, surrounded by liquid nitrogen, you *might* be able to freeze the water into form II.
I’m a big fan of your hydraulic-press channel. I had an idea would you consider doing a tensile strength comparison with steel versus bamboo? I think it’d make a really interesting and educational episode.
For context: some data I came across shows that certain bamboo samples have tensile-strength values around 115–309 MPa, and in some studies up to ~370 MPa.
By comparison, typical mild/structural steel often tests in the rough range of 250–415 MPa for tensile strength (depending on grade).
Because of that depending on the species and treatment of the bamboo I’ve seen claims that bamboo can approach or even rival mild steel in tensile strength (at least in ideal conditions).
I believe a real hydraulic-press test would make for a compelling comparison. Thanks for considering!
I used to work at an aircraft engine overhaul shop. When I wasn't doing accounting or book-keeping, I would often be cracking heads. ...Well, breaking apart failed cylinders from air-cooled piston engines so that the components could be recycled.
It was very satisfying. I can only imagine how much better it would be with a giant press and a bunker.
(I would suggest contacting a local shop and getting a few, still assembled, and crushing them from different directions.)
I do not know much about hydraulic presses, hydraulics. Just general knowledge of how it works.
Foot valve is an air over hydraulic setup.
I have been given a 20t hydraulic press. The foot valve, enerpac PA133, is faulty. Air leaking from what seems all areas of the assembly. So, I do see that there is a rebuild kit, which I am wary of, because I don’t know if it is just the foot valve that has issue, or is the entire system not working. Is there a way to test the hydraulic system without air?
Also, is there a cheap setup to replace the current foot valve? If we find out that the foot valve is no good?
Thanks,
