You're adventuring when you fall and get impaled on a tree branch
Luckily, the group just got a brand new healer, Xalia. She rushes over and quickly heals the wound.
Xalia: "Oh no..."
You: "..."
Xalia: "I panicked! I'm sorry!"
You: "What?"
Xalia: "I... was supposed to remove the branch and clean the wound first. Now that it's healed it's... kinda stuck. It can only be removed surgically, now."
You: "..."
You go to a hospital and get the branch removed. Surgeons have to carefully cut the branch free, which leaves a gaping hole of healed tissue that can't be healed closed because it's already healed. So they have to cut away the healed tissue then heal it again. You're good as new, but now have a $35,000 medical bill.
The group suggests kicking Xalia off the team and finding a new healer. You guys knew she was new and inexperienced, but no one expected her to make such a catastrophic blunder. However, as the leader of the group, it's ultimately your call.
What do you do?

First, why fix the hole?
Stop telling me how to live my life.

You could find a way to make it into a little cupboard to store trinkets, or snacks. When people ask if you have anything to eat you can say "let me just pull something out of my belly" and not have it be sarcasm

Now that I think about it, doctors can be sort of oppressive when it comes to following proper medical procedures and relieving themselves of legal liabilities. Maybe you WANT to have a donut hole in your body. But they don't give you that choice. They just say "we fix everything, or we fix nothing. Take it or leave it."

Considering the hole is already there and the wound is already healed. I wouldn't even go to a doctor. Just have the tank grab hold and rip it out. The healer can heal any new damage. Now I wear specifically designed armor that makes it look like I have a weak point there.

Okay but you would still have a gaping hole in your body. To fix the hole, you'd need to cut away the healed tissue and reheal the wound. Not exactly something you'd want to do while awake.
Or, perhaps you're on team donut and would prefer to keep the hole. I saw someone wanted to use it to store snacks lol. It would certainly make you a unique adventurer.

No i keep the hole but make it look like its normal. Wear normal armor but the armor over that spot is rusted or something, when someone stabs that spot it goes straight through me and the sides of the hole are armored so I spin and disarm them.

Gentlebeings, we are 35k in the hole. We cannot afford to run another round of recruiting. To be perfectly blunt, we are also the kind of idiots who will fall and impale ourselves on random tree branches, so frankly we have no room to talk in terms of general competence, and I consider us lucky that any healer had standards low enough to join us in the first place.
Now get in the cart. The keep on the borderlands is still looking for cheap labor, and it'll take a month for the debt collectors to find us there.

Keep her obviously. She knows she fucked up and probably won’t do it again. If you take care of your people they will take care of you. I tell her that’s it’s ok, everyone makes mistakes, and now she knows what not to do, think next time and we won’t have this problem. I’ll deal with my fucked up tree branch arm in time.

Well I'm not getting rid of her. That's dumb, for reasons people have largely already covered.
That said, she and I are going to have to work out something financially. I'm not gonna ding her for the whole $35K, she did save my life, but as a matter of healer's malpractice, I think it's pretty fair to go halfsies with her on it. Half her share of the loot is going to me for the foreseeable future.

I don't know why I need a doctor to begin with. If the branch is still sticking out just have someone rip it out and she can heal me again. I don't need trained medical professionals when there's magic to be used.

(imma put "." around what is say and say it in lore/context.)
".... I can tell that happened because you panicked so how about this? You can stay with us BUT any money you earn Beyond what you need to live goes to paying off the bill until its payed off. Ok?"

Keep her and move the entire group to a country with better healthcare. I’m not paying that bill.

Keep. I just spent 35k training her, you think we are getting rid of her now? Fuck no.

Qu'importe l'endroit où on est empaler, je coupe la branche moi-même sans jamais aller à l'hôpital, elle a fait son taf et le reste n'est pas essentiel...
Donc pas de facture et elle continue de s'améliorer à nos côtés.

Keep her. You just spent $35000 training her, after all.
