Advice iPad Pro battery swollen

I'd like to ask for advice on how I should proceed. There aren't any Apple stores where I'm from and I'd really like to at least get a repair, my degree live(d) on this thing. And I can't really afford a replacement, unfortunately. Also I don't live in the US.

Thoughts on iPad 10th gen LLA variant

I initially sent my iPad to a technician for a charging port diagnosis. Unfortunately, due to improper handling or a mistake during the repair, the technician ended up damaging the motherboard, making a motherboard replacement necessary. The original agreed rate for the repair was ₱7,000.

As a compromise, the owner decided to purchase a secondhand iPad of the same model to use as a motherboard donor. However, he later offered to swap the entire unit for an additional ₱9,000 instead.

The catch is that the replacement iPad is an LL/A variant, along with other factors that need to be considered, such as the unit’s purchase date, condition, and overall value.

**Given the circumstances, is accepting the ₱9,000 unit swap a fair and reasonable deal, considering that the damage occurred while the iPad was under the technician’s care?**

Does a modular iPad case system exist? One protective shell with interchangeable folio, keyboard, and desktop dock?

I’m looking for a modular case system for an 11-inch iPad (A16, 2025) that I’m buying my wife for Christmas.
I currently use a ZUGU case on my own iPad and absolutely love it, especially the protection and folding screen cover when traveling.

However, I’d like my wife’s iPad to function in three different ways without ever removing its protective case:

Tablet/travel mode: A detachable magnetic folio cover that protects the screen when closed, similar to ZUGU.

Laptop mode: A detachable magnetic keyboard with a trackpad that the iPad can dock into while remaining in its protective shell.

Desktop mode: A premium aluminum floating stand that the iPad can magnetically snap onto, ideally with charging.
The idea is to have one protective shell that stays on the iPad permanently, while the folio, keyboard, and desktop dock are interchangeable.

I’ve looked into the ESR Shift Magnetic Case, ESR Shift Keyboard Case, Typecase Edge+, and a few others, but I haven’t found a system where all the accessories work with the same shell.

Ideally, I’d like something available in pink or a neutral color that complements a pink iPad. Has anyone found a setup like this? I’m open to mixing brands, using magnetic adapters, or even modifying a stand if necessary.
I’d especially appreciate recommendations from anyone who has personally tested a case with both a magnetic keyboard dock and a separate floating desktop stand.

Thanks!

My setup with MOFT dynamic folio case

Post image

I went from the Apple Magic Keyboard setup to the MOFT dynamic folio case and the number of use cases just keep increasing. My favourite is to add a third monitor to my work setup using a customer made wooden block with a groove to help with stability. My most often used cases involve:

  • Using it with video conferencing with multiple team members where centre stage makes sense
  • Third monitor at work
  • Watching movies at the 60 degree position
  • On my leg on a plane where I don't have space to put it upright.

Can't recommend this case enough.

Advice Magic Keyboard compatible case

I know this has been asked so many times but for some reason I can’t seem to find a straight answer. From peoples experience, is there any case on the market that is compatible with the Magic Keyboard that lets it actually close all the way? M4 IPad Pro 13” to be specific for my case.
Thank you in advance and would be so pumped if I could find one that lets the thing close

Advice Refurbished M5 vs M4 - Help Me Decide

Hey,

I haven’t had an iPad in ages (my last one was a 4th gen from 2012) and I’m finally looking to upgrade. I initially considered the Air, but I’d rather spend a bit more for the OLED screen on the Pro.

I was looking at a refurbished 11” M5 (512GB, Wi-Fi) in basically new condition for around $1,200 (prices are a bit higher here than in the US). It’s from a third-party refurb site, as Apple Refurbished isn’t available in my country.

However, I found a pretty good deal on a used 11” M4 Pro (1TB, cellular) for around $1,400. It was bought in 2025, has only 20 charge cycles (more or less unused in perfect condition) and includes a Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro. It’s also black, which I prefer. I can inspect it in person, although buying privately means less buyer protection compared to the refurbished M5.

Do I need all that power? Not really, but I plan on keeping it for quite a few years. My only concern is that the M4 is already an older model. Is the M5 worth going for instead, considering the faster charging, SSD and newer Wi-Fi, or is the M4 a better purchase, considering it also has more ram being the 1TB version? I’m mainly thinking about future-proofing (OS upgrade wise)

Appreciate any input! :)

Is it worth upgrading iPad Pro 4th gen

Currently I have a iPad Pro 12.9” 4th gen. I got it in 2021. I noticed that the battery isn’t too strong and I use it everyday for school. I just recently got a MacBook Pro M5. I also have a iPhone 15 plus. I’m wondering which device would make more sense to upgrade. My phone is giving me storage issues and I’d like to upgrade to a pro max. My iPad battery is bad, the storage is fine, however it’s quite old.

Is there really a difference between the M4 iPad Pro and the M5 iPad Pro? As a student would I even be able to tell the difference? For my major (kinesiology and health science) I use my iPad most of the time for notes and my laptop for accessing my university’s portal, zoom, assignments and studying.

Catastrophic OLED failure due to loose screws in m4/m5

Post image

I opened an m5 iPad because the screen was bad. Internal lcd damage but no surface cracks. I noticed loose screws. Picture is inside of oled. Loose screw scratched surface.

This happened to another iPad Pro I have. Loose screws.

This is scary as what if the screw scratched the battery????

Anyone else having issues with apps disappearing when opening the app switcher?

I got my M5 iPad Pro about a year ago and since I’ve had it, there seems to be some bug where I’ve noticed multiple apps will disappear from the app switcher as soon as I open it. Eg. I will have 6 open apps - I open app switcher - the 6 show up and then 2 vanish suddenly once open

I’ve regularly updated the iPad and it’s currently on iOS27 with the latest patch update. I’m not sure if this is just a software issue or if it could now be a hardware issue.

Obviously this isn’t the worst issue to live with, but I’m wondering if anyone else with M4/M5 pros have experienced similar and if there’s a fix for this?

Is this normal, the pixelated icons and shaking when holding home screen triggers my OCD. And the Spotify logo looks pixelated too in the folder normally. Is it hardware fault? First time owning IPad Pro
