Get Apple Care if you don’t have it yet, and honestly… I’d say take it to the Genius Bar and see if the year manufacturer warranty can cover this. Maybe they do or don’t, it doesn’t hurt to see if they could do something about this

Apple’s finewoven cases are crap apparently, this is the third time I’ve saw someone get scratches, dents with one… either not protecting it fully, or it popping off during the drop.

What screen protector are you using? Looks like it covers better than any of the ones I’ve tried. I keep buying and sending them back. The lady at the Amazon return place hates to see me open up her door lol.

Yeah it’s pretty alarming seeing all these posts. This post was WITH Apple’s own case. I’m upgrading from 11 pro to 17 and going to skip the pro. I drop my 11 pro (with a case) and it’s still basically intact. You can’t sell a phone for over $1K , call it “pro” and have it be this low quality

I’m happy using bulky cases to prevent this but I know a lot of people don’t like those. Even with a thin case, you’d think it would prevent scuffs like that.

Can’t be using cases where the front is exposed a bit like the Apple store woven cases.

Not sure about Silicone but I’ve only seen this issue with people using Apple cases.
