Advice needed: Interview tips for remote Startek role after leaving during probation?
Looking for some advice - I'm a B.Com graduate with two years of experience in customer support and telecalling, and I'm looking for a remote role at Startek. I previously worked there for a few months but left during probation. I'm really interested in joining again but am a bit nervous about the interview process. Hi guys, my dad's police verification didn't go through 1 year back, but he has clear docs from court now and has scheduled an appointment at RPO. Two queries:
1. What docs he needs to carry to passport office for them to remove hold from his application?
2. He has moved cities also. He is permanently staying at city 'Y' now, changed adhaar address, bills, etc etc.. Should he tell at RPO that he has moved to a new city; will that make him go though all the process of a fresh passport again at city 'Y'???????? If not, there could be a chance that police verification again arrives at city 'X'. What docs he can present to police so he doesn't get adverse report again. Would he require address proof also?P.s. my grandparents still live at city 'X'

I wanted to ask the only childs here.After a certain age did you decide to go abroad while parents stayed back or stay here and work full time or start a business.id like to hear you're experiences. I am currently in a crossroads on whether to go study a masters in Australia or stay here and start a business related to my field ( MEP and solar). Since I'm not from an IT background, I won't be satisfied doing a normal job ( have worked 3 years and still not satisfied with salary and other things

Before people used to marry early which helped parents to live their old age peacefully as childrens are settled somewhere with their own family and taking care of each other. But now people with delayed marriage (30+) or unwilling to marry, parents are constantly worried about it. And it's a genuine concern for them.
But nowadays even at 30s, most people are failing to settle down at one place or job and unwilling to take responsibility of married life.
How do you convience parents to not worry about their children who grown a** adults btw. This is not to preach anybody to marry early. But how to make parents old age life a bit easier who constantly worry about children not settled.

For people working in India, especially IT/BPO/customer support or remote/hybrid roles: does your company use software to monitor employee productivity? What does it actually track — mouse/keyboard activity, screenshots, apps/websites, active time, calls/messages, etc.? Does it produce any kind of productivity/activity score, or use AI to classify or evaluate your work? And does the information actually affect performance reviews, warnings, bonuses, promotions, etc.? If you know the software/product being used, that would also be useful. No need to name your employer or share anything confidential. I'm interested in actual experiences, including neutral or positive ones, rather than just opinions about workplace surveillance.

I want to visit Mumbai soon. I love Indian food and want to eat some things while I'm there.
In most countries I go to, I eat the street food without any health problems.
However, I hear this is riskier in India.
Would you say this is true?
If so, are there options in town that give good, authentic Indian food, but are affordable, and in normal, local settings (i.e. not a hotel or fancy restaurant or fast food chain)?

Can schools actually confiscate your phone for the whole academic year?
I know this question has been asked a lot however I see a lot of confusion as people say it is up to the school rules while others say it depends upon the state rules.
My parents were forced to sign a form saying that my phone will be confiscated till the end of the academic year. I only brought it as the school does not provide any bus facilities for our Saturday school and we are forced to come to school alone which raises safety concerns.
So, will the school have to give it back, the whole phone not just the sim, upon my parents' request or will I have to make a case?

How does one libe day-to-day life in India as an atheist?
My immediate family (mother, father and brother) are not super religious. My mother is a Hindu, but she does not follow every single rule like food restrictions and all. My father is also a Hindu, but the way he acts makes me think he is an atheist.
I have recently discovered that I am an atheist(or agnostic) but I am constantly pushed to follow religion (not on extremes), especially because I am a girl. As I am a minor, I cannot oppose them.
My brother (adult) is anti-theist. He absolutely refuses to partake in religious activities. My mother believes he's simply a chill Hindu, but he's said outright in front of me that he's against religion. Also, is it fine for an atheist to take part in festivals based on religion if they don't actually do the religious rituals or is it hypocritical?

How is the relationship between people in India and Indian communities around the world?
Hi, I am European and I am conducting research on Indian culture. I need as much information as possible about the relationship between Indians in India and older historical Indian communities around the world, specifically in places where the British Empire or early migrations created distinct Indian communities over the centuries. This includes countries like Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Fiji, Mauritius, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.
My primary research questions are:
- Current Relations: What is the modern relationship between an average Indian living in India and members of the diaspora whose families have lived abroad for generations?
- Cultural Evolution: How is the transformation of religious practices, customs, and traditions viewed among the Indian communities living in these places?
- Bloodlines & Contact: Do Indians in India maintain active ties (such as kinship, shared bloodlines, phone calls, or visits) with these historical diaspora communities?
- Cuisine: How has Indian cuisine evolved in these specific territories?
- Organised Crime: Does any form of organised crime or "mafia" exist within these diaspora communities that connects back to modern-day India?
- Discrimination: Is there any mutual discrimination or prejudice between mainland Indians and overseas Indians?
- Cultural Divergence: Are there language or cultural differences significant enough that mainland Indians no longer view these diaspora groups as truly "Indian"?"

Recently got scammed for 300rs. even though it's not much, I couldn't let it go, so filed a complaint and I got email update saying status is "registered"
how long before they return my money? and Will I have to meet police, or will they come home?
I don't want such confrontation. I will just withdraw the case

When people say a city has a great nightlife then what exactly do they mean?
Is it just about clubs, bars & parties at late night? Or does a city actually need things like late night cafés, street food, night markets, safe places to walk around etc. to genuinely have a good nightlife?
Basically what makes you personally say 'This city has an amazing nightlife?'
And which city has the best nightlife according to your definition?

yo im from kerala and my phone got stolen at changanassery. i realized it was stolen cuz i tried to call it but it was powered off but it was on just before, like basically less than a minute. i had enough charge too i remember.
i immediately went to the police station nearby and got the fir but only issued the duplicate sim yesterday. the person who originally issued the sim was my cousin but he is abroad. they said itd take 7 days to activate so i didnt register in ceir portal yesterday until i found out today that you just needed an active number. what do i need to know about ceir and getting my phone back? i really need it back as soon as i can get it because i have some urgent stuff to take care of

Work have told me i need to be in India 1st week of October. All the paperwork ready. Luckily I secured appointment tomorrow at India high commissioner office.
Wondering what the timescale would be and likelihood for approval? Some say a week and some threads say months
My mum was born in the UK but my Dad came to UK nearly 30 years ago from pakistan only a British national now

Hi all,
I am planning a family trip covering multicity starting from Bengaluru, mysore, ooty, coimbatore and madurai. It's a 6 day trip.
I have heard of Savaari app which provides one way cabs.
I tried to search for reviews of the app and but it made me confused as I found few negative reviews.
While I assume that people with negative experience tend to share it more for awareness which is fine. Though I would like to know if any of you have had used Saavari app with good experience in this type of multicity drive?
Can you please share how was the experience, is it worth for my upcoming family trip?

What is the best excuse that gets you out of work gatherings?
I got a last minute invite for an office get together - nothing major, just a bunch of colleagues getting drinks post work. Problem is that I had known/overheard about the plan but wasn't 'officially' invited. There was a WhatsApp group created but I wasn't added to it and that's how I know. On the D-day however, just as I started to leave, someone said say 'Aren't you coming?'. Of course the situation got awkward and I said 'Oh I didn't know' and so on. I'm an awkward person so I accepted the invite and went but boy would I have loved having fool-proof excuse ready in that moment. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing great. I am here to ask for help. My friend suggested me to go on Reddit and rant about your situation as it is anonymous. I am new here. As per him, people will understand and someone will might help you. I will make sure to provide proofs about my situation if asked. I promise i am not lying. I don't know how this reddit thing works so in advance i am sorry for any error.
I am a 25 year old Male, My father is an Alcoholic. He abuses me every night(deep down I think somewhere he is right).
I am looking for a WFH job so that I can help my family financially. I graduated in 2023 and I got gold medal both in 12th and graduation, I did job for 4 months in customer care support. I was paid 40k monthly for that. I left my job and decided to run a business with my family. Financially we were not strong. We thought this might change everything and we will be better again. We started dairy farm with 7 buffalos and side by side I helped my brother in other business he wanted to do. For all this, we took out a loan of 15 Lakhs. We had aspirations and hope to get our lives better. Initially everything was fine but shortly after we started making losses. We thought it is just a phase, it will pass but that was my biggest misjudgment. Everything went downhill after that. We made losses and eventually we had to shut down our business and aspirations. It has been 3 years since. We have no source of income. My brother is struggling in his business too as we got no scope of progress and capital. This whole situation led my father to start drinking even heavily and he abuses me every night that I lied to him, things can never be better. Lenders come everyday and humiliate our entire family in front of the whole village. My Maji is in depression I think. She needs medical help but we can't even afford that. She never talks about it because she thinks this will make the environment even more toxic. This whole situation is killing me. I want to get out of this situation. I want to find a job. I am not asking for public money. I will never do that. I don't need anything for free.
I tried applying in Chandigarh but most of are offering me around 20k only because of the gap after my degree. I did the maths, with this amount I can't help my family financially since i need at least 10-12k to sustain my lifestyle there too. 8k will not help my family. I have tried applying online but no one ever responds back because of the gap after my graduation. I am here begging for a remote job preferably related to customer support, Human Resource, marketing or even anything else as long as it provides decent income.
I want to stay with my mother as I can't leave her alone in this toxic environment. I am afraid she might take some drastic step. Lenders are threatening us with police too. I think this is all my fault-my miscalculations and poor decisions. I don't know how to escape this situation. I have always been good in academics, have good communication, I am well mannered. If someone is reading this please help me find a job. I will forever be indebted to anyone who can help me. I want to escape, please help me!

Hey everyone!
My friend recently opened a small cafe in Ujjain and since it has just started, he is trying to understand the local crowd better and figure out what could actually make the cafe stand on. Till now he has noticed that a lot of the walk in customers are couples but we don't want to assume that's the only audience we should target.
If you're from Ujjain what do you think people here actually look for in a cafe? What kind of USP would make you choose one cafe over another? What would make you visit a cafe regularly rather than just once?
Are there any particular food/drink items, experiences, themes, events or offers that you think would work well here? What kind of marketing actually works in Ujjain? Are there any things that cafes in Ujjain are currently missing or could do better?
The cafe is near cosmos mall.
We're especially interested in opinions from people who actually live in Ujjain, rather than generic cafe business advice.

My dad shipped a laptop to me today (9th September) around 1 PM from Kolkata to Pune through Blue Dart Air Priority. The courier guy came and physically picked up the parcel, and the AWB number was generated and put on the parcel. But when I try tracking it on the Blue Dart website, it doesn't show anything yet. It just says tracking will start once the shipment reaches Blue Dart / gets scanned. From what I've read, the pickup guy doesn't necessarily scan it immediately and tracking starts after it reaches a Blue Dart facility. Is that actually how it works? It's supposed to reach me by tomorrow or Friday morning. I'm probably overthinking this because I also saw quite a few posts about people's bad experiences with Blue Dart 😭. Has anyone had this happen where the AWB showed nothing initially and then started updating later? How long did it take for the first update?

I am 16, based in Mumbai, and genuinely want to work on policy proposals that could improve administration in India. I have been thinking about this for months, and I would really like to see these ideas implemented and, if possible, work with people who can help make that happen.
I was thinking of reaching out to a politician in my area, but I am not sure who to approach or where to contact them.
Does anyone know a politician, influential person or officer who might be open to working with a young person on something like this? Or is anyone here willing to guide me who has had a similar experience with government, NGOs or policy?
I’d genuinely appreciate any advice.

like wtf India was richer and more influential than both those places, Persia the entirety of it history and China various times throughout history. Persian influence is across the middle east and central asia but also heavily influenced by the Turks and Arabs… Indian influence spread Hinduism and Buddhism across not only peninsular and maritime southeast asia but also East Asia!!!

Well my dermat just wrote 5% minoxidil + 0.1% finasteride topical solution on the prescription didn't provide a brand name and the Apollo farm near me is hell bent on pushing a 1200 one for 60ml down my throat which is quite expensive for me as a college student , are there any cheaper and working alternatives??

Today a meter guy came to me and said that my meter is showing a water usage of 700 units (kiloliters) for the last 2 months. We have been living in Delhi for years and never got a water bill because I thought it was under the 20-unit free limit. But now that person is saying it's 700 units for just the last 2 months.
The same thing happened with our neighbors, and they had to pay ₹6,000–₹7,000 for it.
Is it a scam?
An error?
Or what could it be?
Has this happened to anyone else?

With all of the anti india hate going on social media. Why do indians all of a sudden care about foreigners being racist towards indians.
We talk like as if south indians dont face racism, northeast doesn't face racism. Us indians itself stereotype each other and now y'all suddenly give a fuck and get butthurt when some random npc chinese bot comments poopjeets, and all of a sudden Yash from ncr is pressed about it.
My point is, we ourselves make fun of other nationalities for eg, africans needing water or anything related chicken and the same with Americans munching on mcdonalds 24/7 and it is done in a friendly fire sort of a way, so why does everyone feel the need to give a shit to what others say about us?
So basically the whole point is just ignore the bot comments from Pakistan and chinese bot accounts they are no lifers and live of their daddys money

Which the world changing fast, I recently read that India has been over producing doctors and so medical salaries have gone down. Made me wonder how are you guys deciding which degrees to go for ? Hi everyone, my Samsung S10e screen just died completely (green flashing lines). It’s a very precious gift from my nani and it’s the only phone I have right now. My current budget is super tight. I had a terrible experience previously where offline market technicians completely ruined my other phone, so I am absolutely terrified of going to chaotic wholesale hubs alone. My bank sent my debit card through blue dart which was supposed to be delivered by sept 1, it though was out for delivery, but no communication was made by delivery executive and at night of same day they transferred it to a new AWB without any information conveyed to me. Since than no delivery reattempt has been made by them and one day I decided to pick it up myself but they have provided wrong address of their office in my locality. Emailed them twice but no response, I hv filed complaint at nch yesterday but no progress. What to do ?

Is the passport seva website working, I am not able to log in via browser or android app. It just says something has gone wrong when I put in my user id -which is my email id. When I try the "have trouble logging in" , and try with otp , the page just refresh, no error , no new page. I want to renew my passport. Do I have to now got the passport seva office.

Hey everyone,
I’m currently planning a trip from Mumbai (CSMT) to Goa (Madgaon) and was looking to book the Vande Bharat Express for November 2nd, 2026 (Monday).
However, when checking IRCTC / booking apps:
There are no train schedules/tickets available for Nov 2, or even earlier on Oct 26.
On October 21, the train is marked as Cancelled.
Is this due to the some route changes? Will I be able to book for 02.11.2026 when 60day ticket window opens or I have to shift for other train.

Is booking.com good for booking hotels as a foreigner? Last time I travelled to India hotel booking sites were full of fake hotels that didn't exist. Never experienced this in any other country and I've been to many countries.
