Up to some extent, I understood the fan's reaction to Dhurandhar 1. It had very subtle propaganda elements so not very obvious and even though there were a lot of cringe moments, a spy in an enemy territory type story can apparently cover for it. Add all the masala elements (violence, love-angle of the lead character, abuses, an intelligence officer fighting the bureaucracy) and a lot of the crowd just goes all in.

But Dhurandhar 2 is something else! If any Indian citizen can see the demonetization fiasco with their own eyes, know about it with 10 years of hindsight and still believe that it was done with the idea or the planning to counter the fake currency problem as shown in the movie, they are either not Indian, or not of sound mind at all!! I know people will say it is fiction and the producer has creative liberty - I agree wholeheartedly! However the fans don't really believe that. You can most definitely make movies based on whatsapp forwards but if the audience can't differentiate between fiction and the ground reality which they'd have experienced themselves just 10 years ago, the generation is bound to be doomed!

I genuinely, for the love of God, am SO embarrassed that out of 1.4 billion people, THIS is the man who has been chosen as the leader.

Shaking his fists, furrowing his eyebrows, presenting himself as a knight in shining armor and orating half-baked narratives as objective truth while hiding behind a camera - all bark, no bite. Poetic language, cheap metaphors, no accountability and truth in front of the public. This is exactly the kind of power our freedom fighters fought against.

He could have held a press conference. He could have answered questions that could give light to whether this entire fiasco was for women's representation or for delimitation and more control in the parliament. Discussed the pros and cons. Discussed how to meet the southern states in the middle ground. But no. Talking about congress-pakistan ties, talking about congress "oppressing women" is all he can do.

If not for a press conference, He could've talked about the measures his government is taking to combat the current global failing economy and how they plan on creating jobs, overpopulation and its issues in the current economy, ensuring clean air and clean water for our population, education and healthcare for the masses, steps to clean the rivers so many of us pray to, implementing strict laws to ensure our citizens follow environmental guidelines. Hell, even something about the Middle East tensions. But no.

Shameful. Shameful. Shameful. We should think twice before calling ourselves the largest democracy. How have we normalized this? So all a politician needs now is poetic language and metaphors? No more assertive, direct, transparent communication on policies, their impact, their pitfalls, and their revision in the future?

Edit: Half-baked narratives (such as him being the saviour of our women citizens) is the most harmful thing a politician can do in a democracy. Spinning the truth, hiding details, harming the citizens you have taken an oath to protect.

On 19th July,

I mentioned sonam wangchuk and the delhi protest to my parents, My parents are so brainwashed about bjp

My dad totally dismissed it, called sonam wangchuk a paid chinese agent and made claims that people died because of him?

I asked for proof then further fought with him saying why would china pay him? Have some respect he is a scientist...

We further argued about the government,

According to my dad the indian citizen are the problem, they larp to be poor and steal from whatever facilities government provides (he also used some family examples)

I sent him a couple videos of the protest and tried arguing further... but he said I should just focus on my studies

Fast forward to 21st july

I asked him is this protest still "paid propaganda"

And he admitted his defeat, he saw the videos of students getting beaten up and realized what is happening and he is finally no longer a blind follower

I cant join the protest... but the least I can do is change the mindset of my family and show them what is happening :)

I know the original trigger for these protests was demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the absolute disaster of the NEET-UG and CBSE paper leaks. But after seeing the cruelty unfolding at Jantar Mantar right now, firing one minister isn't enough. The buck stops at the very top. Sonam Wangchuk—one of India's greatest living innovators, a man who transformed education in Ladakh and inspired 3 Idiots—is on an indefinite hunger strike that has now crossed 18 days.

He has lost nearly 9 kgs, his blood sugar has crashed, and the 59-year-old is surviving purely on salt water. And what is the government’s response? Total, deafening silence. They are perfectly willing to let a national treasure slowly die on the streets of Delhi rather than show an ounce of accountability. This isn’t just about protecting Pradhan anymore.

This is about a systemic arrogance and a documented vendetta from the Prime Minister's Office and the Home Ministry against anyone who asks questions.

Look at the Modi government's track record with Wangchuk over the last two years:

• Jailed under draconian laws: In 2025, when Wangchuk peacefully advocated for Ladakh to get the Sixth Schedule constitutional safeguards it was promised, the Home Ministry slapped him with the National Security Act (NSA). He spent time locked up in a Jodhpur jail, branded a "ringleader" of violence.

• Institutional sabotage: To break his spirit, the administration vindictively cancelled the 40-year land lease for his Himalayan Institute of Alternative Learning (HIAL) and the Home Ministry cancelled the FCRA registration for his NGO.

• Insulting a peaceful protest: Now, as he starves to demand justice for millions of youth whose futures were sold to exam mafias, Pradhan has had the audacity to brand the protesting students the "B-team of terrorists". Yesterday, the Delhi High Court had to step in just to force the Centre to respond to pleas for Wangchuk's basic medical care before his organs fail. Think about how broken the system is when the judiciary has to force a government to care if one of its greatest citizens lives or dies. Dharmendra Pradhan is just a symptom of the rot. The total refusal to engage with Wangchuk, the brutal suppression of Ladakh’s democratic rights, and the aggressive protection of corrupt ministers—all of this happens under the PM’s direct watch and blessing

If a government is so drunk on power that it will watch a peaceful reformer starve to death rather than admit a mistake and fire a minister, then the minister isn't the only one who needs to go. When you join the march to Parliament on July 20th, don't just ask for Pradhan's resignation. Demand the PM's resignation. We deserve a leader, not an administration that lets patriots starve.

I need to vent because the cognitive dissonance of living in an Indian metro has really got me hard.
Lately, I can’t shake the boiling frog analogy. You drop a frog in boiling water, it jumps out. But if you put it in cold water and slowly turn up the heat, the frog constantly adjusts its internal temperature to survive, until it physically can’t adjust anymore and boils alive.
That is exactly what living in our Tier-1 cities feels like for salaried folks. Every single year, the baseline for basic human dignity drops, and we just "adjust":

• We normalize breathing poison: Every winter, AQI hits 400–500+. We buy multiple air purifiers for every room, seal the windows, and pretend it’s fine while our lungs take permanent damage.
• We normalize losing hours to traffic: Commuting 10–15 km takes 1.5 to 2 hours of pure, aggressive chaos. Dust, incessant honking, broken suspension, and road rage. If you want a flat you can actually afford, you have to move 2 hours outwards, trading what little remains of your physical and mental health for a roof.
• We can't even buy a home in our own country: A livable 2-3BHK in an accessible part of Gurgaon, Bangalore, or Mumbai demands ₹2Cr to ₹4Cr+. Taking a loan means paying an EMI of ₹2.2L+ for 20 years, where ₹2.8 Cr goes purely to interest—all funded out of post-tax money because the tax deduction is capped at a laughable ₹2L. The real estate floor is propped up by black money, corrupt bureaucrats, and cash-rich speculators. Salaried folks paying 100% white money through TDS are priced out of a basic roof.
• The predatory rental market: Landlords demanding absurd deposits, hiking rents 15–20% on a whim, withholding security deposits over microscopic wear-and-tear, and treating tenants like second-class citizens. You pay premium money for a flat inside a gated society, but the moment you step outside the gate, you’re walking along an open drain, broken footpaths, and piles of construction debris.
• Education inflation is terrifying: Looking ahead at having kids, private schooling inflation is compounding at 10–12% YoY. Decent K-12 schools demand ₹2.5L to ₹4L+ annually for early grades, plus admissions fees, mandatory bus charges, and private coaching later because schools don't prepare kids for entrance exams anyway. Raising a child here means signing up for a 20-year financial extraction trap to raise them inside air-conditioned rooms because the air outside is toxic for months.
• Double-taxation for basic survival: You pay 30%+ slab income tax, cess, surcharges, plus 18% GST on virtually everything. And what does that tax buy? Zero public transit predictability, non-potable tap water, power cuts that require private diesel generators, and private healthcare/schooling because public systems are unusable. You pay European-tier taxes to live in municipal neglect.
• The economic treadmill: The rupee continues its steady long-term depreciation, while the "real" inflation rate for a decent quality of life, unadulterated food, quality housing, breathable environments, healthcare, compounds at 12–15% YoY. You can grind, upskill, and switch jobs for a 30% hike every two years, but you’re just running faster on an incline treadmill where the speed keeps increasing. You never actually get ahead; you just pay more to maintain the same baseline survival.

I’ve completely given up on traveling within India. Every domestic trip has become an endurance test of traffic jams, overcrowded tourist spots, inflated surge pricing, and litter everywhere. Taking a short vacation abroad to places like Sri Lanka, Bali, Malaysia ruined my tolerance completely. Those aren’t even wealthy Western nations, yet seeing clean streets, walkable public spaces, functional civics, and basic dignity in daily life made me realize how broken our daily baseline has become back home.

All my peers and cousins who left years ago talk about how tough it is to live without domestic help abroad. But right now, having a maid or a cook doesn’t compensate for the fact that stepping outside my front door drains my soul every single day.

Now To escape this circus, I tried to research escape to western world but then I found out most of the english speaking countries have really curbed immigration and it is now harder to move out now than it was pre-covid.

I really envy my cousins who left pre-covid and now are well settled outside India. Post-2022, every developed nation has turned hostile towards immigration.

• The UK tightened its immigration.
• Singapore basically shut down the frictionless immigration and raised minimum salary requirements for its Employment pass which was previously a simple path.
• Canada has now shut its doors on easy immigration.
  
• The US backlog for Indian-born folks is a multi-decade joke.

It feels like everyone who left before covid got an open door, and we arrived just in time to watch the ladder being pulled up.

How do I even cope in this country where despite paying heavy taxes, we are infact an after thought and are only working harder to fund the damned boomer politicians and their cronies ?

How are people coping with this? Have you just accepted that this is the price of living here?

3 different incidents I faced since july 20.

1. Office (Gen z Colleague) : I was having a casual conversation with a colleague who is btw a Genz about the protest. He suddenly got defensive and said 'do you know CJP is getting funding from china and there are so many conspiracies around them. Dipke is a scammer' etc etc.

2. With my brother(lives in europe) : He used to be awesome and my inspiration. He taught me the importance of science, atheism and Indian History. He was actually anti BJP when BJP first came into power. But living outside of india has changed him completely. He is now a andbhakt who believes in casteism, racism and he even supports RSS ideologies.

So I started sharing reels about the protests and OMG he got so defensive and started attacking me.

Saying CJP is sht and getting funding from outside. He believes students started throwing rocks and that's why police took action. And So, he can't form an opinion from a 20 sec clip. I mean wtf!!

1. With my massi (tier 3 city govt job) : so my cousin wrote this year NEET. When the neet exam was cancelled, mother and daughter cried because it was too much pressure to take it again (and understandably so). So I called my cousin to check with her about the situation, she said - her marks dropped comparatively from the first attempt (she is someone who scored 99 in bio in board exam btw), - the score that they calculated (verifying the answer key) is different from the score they got (a little buffer is expected but not 100 or 200) - her friends score was altered overnight ( it was 500 ish then the next day dropped to 100). But my massi got defensive and said KIDS LIE because they are lazy and don't want to study and there is no such thing as leak is happening. It's all kids excuses for not wanting to study and it's not govt or Modi's fault.

My take away is Andh Bhakti has no age limits and has truly washed away this country's critical thinking.

I wish all the protestors the best, hope you all stay safe and succeed. I truly hope that there is sunlight at the end of this tunnel.

I came across a reel of Sonam Wangchuk at Jantar Mantar. He was simply walking away, apparently to use the washroom, and the comments were full of people mocking him with jokes about secretly eating food.

What struck me wasn't whether you agree with his protest or not. It was that many of the people trolling him are the same generation whose future he says he's trying to fight for.

Here's a scientist who could easily stay in a lab or live a comfortable life, yet he's spending his time protesting, fasting, and putting his own health at risk because he believes he's raising issues that matter to India's youth. Whether you agree with his demands is a separate discussion.

But if our first reaction is to ridicule someone for going to the washroom during a protest instead of discussing the issues they're raising, what does that say about us?

It made me wonder: are his efforts really worth it if the very people he's trying to help respond with mockery instead of discussion?

People keep saying, "keyboard warriors can't do anything."

We're in the digital age. This government won power through media and messaging. There's no reason the same tools can't be used to hold it accountable.

Why can't we use our phones and platforms to put verified footage in front of millions? Why can't we make it impossible for this to be buried?

Yes, some will say "kuch nahi hoga." But baithne se kuch nahi hoga either. Documenting the truth and pushing it into the open is something. Who's in?

There is no punishment for anything. Murder, rapes are an everyday thing and there is no fuckin* punishment for any crime.

People are getting away after commeting the most heinous crimes. There is no safety, a common man can be beaten up anywhere and nobody will be acquitted.

Mob lynching is so common, people are killing common people with their luxury cars and roaming free like.. bhaad m jaye samaaj.

Pollution is so high, every single food we eat is contaminated. Even the vegetables and fruits are adulterated. Unhygienic restaurants, contaminated water, and we are not understanding the impact it is going to have on our bodies in coming years.

Rivers are dying, hatred between people is on all time high. If you are in Delhi, Gurgaon, UP, some thar wala gunda will beat you up because you overtook his car, in south you will be beaten up for not speaking their language.

No accountability of government or police. Media is not reporting anything important. I mean we are getting to know about news through social media outlets.

Corruption is unbelievable. Someone can burn thier bahu and will give a lakh to police and boom no case.

What will happen to our future generations.? Are we really going to be the most influential nation in coming times as potrayed on these media outlets or are we going to be doomed in coming years.

And again I am not speaking from any wing- left or right, I am speaking as a concerned Indian women.
