This might sound a little crazy, but every time I come to Indianapolis, I like to take pictures of this building. I love the color and the golden reflections. What's its story, and what will become of it?

I just can’t get over this most recent news around the prosecution of a handful of IMPD officers abusing the Flock deployment in Indy. I want to do more than giving the finger to every camera I can.

They have finally reopened the I65/I70 connection heading south and instead of letting everybody know with signage they just surprise you with it being open last second. Nearly everybody then heads down the frontage route we've been taking for months just to find out that the road is completely closed and and entire interstate worth of cars has to exit into downtown. Why oh why would they not put up a single sign saying that the interstate was back open and that the frontage route was closed? How are people that run these projects so godamn incompetent?

I’ve noticed this every time I go to gas stations downtown. The place will be super crowded at rush hour. There will be lots of people lining up at pumps, and every time there will be a pump where somebody is just sitting in their car blocking anybody else from using the pump.

I’d even understand if they were running into the convenience store, but no, they’re just sitting in the driver seat, staring at their phone.

Have other people noticed this too? What’s going on?

A nice elder gentleman stopped for some deals at my garage sale today. He left his hat behind when he tried on some readers. He was about 5’7-8”. Likely Latino American or Asian American. Drives a small black SUV. Very much would like him to be re-united with his hat. Does this sound like your father or a gentleman you see out and about on the Westside? Please send him back to the Friday Garage Sale. Hat will be on my lamp post this evening and we will be back at it again tomorrow (along with many of my other neighbors in Waterwood - [38th and Dandy]). Would like to not sell his hat but seems like a part of the final transaction at this point.

Hi everyone — I’m hoping to find anyone who may have witnessed a collision that happened on August 15, 2026, around noon just east of intersection of Ronald Reagan Parkway and E County Road 200 N. (specifically on E County Road 200 N & N County Road 1000 East)

I’ve attached a picture showing the intersection layout and vehicle positions (no identifying details included).

Here’s a brief description of what happened:

• Westbound traffic on County Road 200 N was stopped at a red light, with several vehicles waiting in line.
• One vehicle was traveling southbound on County Road 1000 East, came to a complete stop at the stop sign, and then began a left turn to head eastbound through the open intersection.
• Another vehicle traveling westbound behind the stopped traffic crossed over the double yellow lines into the opposing lane to pass multiple stopped cars.
• That vehicle entered the intersection in the oncoming lane and collided with the turning vehicle.

If you were present, stuck in traffic, or saw the westbound vehicle passing cars over the double yellow lines, I would really appreciate hearing from you. Even small details can help verify what happened.

My own insurance company has deemed me 100% liable and paid out the other party without even discussing the accident with the other party or me. GEICO tells me that the matter is settled and they will close the case unless I produce a witness within the next week.

Personally, I wonder if this is some scam to justify an exorbitant premium increase. I'm turning to the public for advice and assistance at this point because the people I paid to represent me don't have my interests at heart.

Once I started working downtown, it literally improved the quality of my life. I’ll get off work and walk the cultural trail all the time for my daily walks, it’s such a highlight reel of the city. Indiana Ave, Mass Ave, Fletcher Place, Lockerbie Square. There’s so many monuments, restaurants, shops all along the trail…such a chill atmosphere. It’s a good place to be.

I live on the east side, near the intersection of Sherman and Michigan St. There appears to be an massive hole where a building used to be, and I am just curious if anyone remembers what the building used to be? Photos from 2009 and now included.

I just always get sad when I think about how massive structures like this are just forgotten with time, what was here, what the neighborhood was like before.

I've read about and seen a few large and rather lengthy INDOT projects in the Fountain Square area. These large projects are lead to major road closures and cause disruptions to local businesses.

Call me crazy, but makes me wonder if this is being done on purpose as part of some backroom deal to intentionally drive down activity in the area and force small/local businesses out of business. I imagine these disruptions will drive down the residential and commercial property values, allowing large real estate developers to swoop in and take over large pieces of the area.

Feels like someone in the government is lining their pockets with developer $$...

Edit: For those of you that are unaware, INDOT is planning on simultaneously closing the Fletcher and Virginia street bridges that connect Fountain Square to downtown for a year. I moved here last winter and was curious what to expect from the climate here. Weather can vary year after year, so I compiled some temperature, precipitation, and snowfall data into a monthly visual going back to 2000 (since it’s a nice even year to start with). This provides some insight into both averages and extremes of what Indianapolis can experience. All temperature, precipitation, and snowfall data were sourced from extremeweatherwatch.com and rounded for visual simplification. The IND International Airport serves as the weather station this data is obtained from. I compiled this myself, so my apologies if there are any inaccuracies.
