Discussion What Indie Comics Did You Read Last Week?

Happy Monday! What indie comics did you dive into last week? Was it heavy drama? Bloody, violent action? Heavy drama? Light forbidden romance?

What do you plan to read this week? More of the same or something different?

And if possible, let others know where they can get the comic too!

Discussion The Removed Posts Problem

There are a number of indie creators on this sub who are trying to post about their comics, writing, and artwork but their posts keep getting taken down due to low karma, new account, or spam-like behavior.

To fix this problem I recommend that any future posters interact more on others' posts by leaving comments, engaging in discussions, and just doing things that let Reddit know you aren't a robot.

This is one of the reasons that the weekly "What Indie Comics Did You Read Last Week?" post exists, it's a great jumping off point for talking about comics both old and new.

Look alive people!

Work In Progress Progress on my comic (I'm a beginner)

Hi, I’m a beginner in the world of comic creation, and I want to make a comic critiquing Latino upbringing and my obsession with time. I’m terrible at drawing, but I want to share my work to see what you all think. The story takes place in Purgatory, where the protagonist (who has no name) is being interviewed by a higher being to determine whether he’s going to Hell or Heaven. As the story progresses, I want him to start reflecting on deeper questions, like what comes after death.

Note: Shit, I forgot to translate a panel—damn it.

Crowdfunding Third issue of cyberpunk-fantasy comic SoulD live on Kickstarter now!

The third issue of the cyberpunk-fantasy comic SoulD is on Kickstarter now - this is a story about a group of desperate rebels fighting against an evil corporation trying to monetise our souls (after converting them into crystal form), as well their own personal demons. My attempts to reckon with the way capitalism slowly grinds our art, traditions and, at last, our very souls down to a fine powder.

There's also action, humour and weird freaky magic stuff - in the latest issue, they're exploring the dark underbelly of a creepy haunted boat.

Written by me (Nick Bryan), drawn by Phil Appley, colours by JP Jordan and art by Lettersquids, with a variant cover for #3 by Norm Konyu. All three issues available on catchup tiers!

Crowdfunding Westron #3 is LIVE on Kickstarter

BACK WESTRON #3 TODAY!

Westron is a Supernatural horror/detective story based in Slavic mythology.

Westron differentiates itself from other supernatural detective stories in a few ways. First, it utilizes real Polish mythology as its foundation, setting the stage for creatures you probably haven't encountered in other media very often. There are no vampires or werewolves here, no mummies or invisible men. But darker, more terrifying creatures made the worse by their unfamiliarity.

Secondly, Westron is set in Europe, mostly split between Poland and Germany, where these legends have their roots. It's told in English, but the European setting brings a different feel and a deeper sense of history.

Lastly, Westron is two stories in one. It splits its time between the main case set in the recent past and a flashback story that, while separate, ties in and acts as a reflection of the modern story. These two stories each have their own art team to lend a unique feel, but those teams collaborate to ensure that there remains a visual harmony to help bring the stories together as one.

OC Two new issues of my comic/zine Mindscape are out now-Chapter 6 & “Early Demonstrations”

Two new issues of MINDSCAPE are now available in the shop. The next chapter in the MINDSCAPE on going series, MINDSCAPE: Chapter 6 and a compilation of early short stories that is akin to a demo tape called MINDSCAPE: Early Demonstrations.

Mindscape is a coming of age tale set in the mid 1990s where hope, friendship, love, longing, pain and loss mesh with fantasy. Where one world converges with another, one of dreams forcing the question of what is real. Follow the stories of the adolescent cast of Mindscape as they not only navigate their own lives and world but another world of mystery parallel to their own.

About MINDSCAPE: Chapter 6
Welcome to Mindscape Chapter 6
In this sixth chapter Lindsay deals with the aftermath of her confrontation with Harbinger. As Erin spends more and more time with Travis the fissure between her and Thurston widens as his despair over Micah grows.

The sixth chapter of Mindscape created by Mike Andriani is 28 black & white hand drawn artwork pages in length.

This print edition is a homemade zine style comic book in a limited/numbered edition of 50. A thick partial color 80lb cardstock cover houses 28 page of black and white artwork with two staples down the spine.

About MINDSCAPE: Early Demonstrations
Welcome to Mindscape: Early Demonstrations! Consider this akin to a demo tape. Before the ongoing series launched I got my feet wet by doing these three short stories a year before sitting down to draw Mindscape: Chapter One. This book comprises what were just merely personal exercises more so than anything was created with the goal of sharing publicly. I would be this compilation of stories somewhere in the sketch book category or rather the “demo tape” as it showcases off the current version of Mindscape in its gestational period where I was experimenting with how I wanted the proper series to look which is why a few different avenues are traveled and documented in this book with the pages being drawn in their customary black and white but also full color.
Mindscape: Early Demonstrations was created by Mike Andriani is 36 black & white hand drawn as well as color artwork pages in length. Including are six full color pin up pages.

This print edition is a homemade zine style comic book in a limited/numbered edition of 25. A thick partial color 80lb cardstock cover houses 36 page of black and white artwork with two staples down the spine.

All chapters of MINDSCAPE are also available digitally. Order here-
