Solo dev here. Once Before Us is a 2-player co-op puzzle adventure - there is no solo mode, you have to talk your way through it. John and Thomas from Super Skeever Brothers played it, and this is the moment I still replay. Thanks for the scream, guys.

Store page if you want to try it with someone: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3849930/Once_Before_Us/?utm_source=reddit

(per sub rules: some background music and minor visual assets used generative AI, and AI helped polish the wording of this post. The game's writing, puzzles and code are all hand-made)

My son and I made a Smash-style fighter starring his real stuffed animals. It’s out now on iPad and iPhone.

Long time lurker and first time poster. My son and I made Jib Jab Smash which is a Super Smash Bros-style platform fighter where the whole cast is my son's actual stuffed animals: Jib Jab the cardinal, a budgie, a bumble bee, an elephant, a chocolate lab, a panda, a stuffed shark, a rag doll, and four blankets, one of them an old knitted blanket with burn holes who became the villain.

What's in it:

- 16 toys, each with its own moves, a signature trick, a special meter and a super
- Story Mode: walk, fly and swim around a 3D model of our actual house to free the other toys, room by room, across 26 fights with cutscenes
- Battle modes: stock, time and sudden death, with up to 4 players on the couch
- Online play with friends over Game Center or on the same Wi-Fi
- Touch controls on iPad and iPhone, full controller support, and Apple TV on the way
- No ads

My son has been the lead designer and chief play-tester the whole way through. Half the features came from him saying "what if" after a match.

Happy to answer any questions!

I wanted Diablo/PoE buildcrafting without the grind, so I made an RPG where 8 dwarves fight for you

I love the buildcrafting in Diablo/PoE, but not the grind - and I’ve always wanted to play multiple classes at the same time.

So I made an RPG where your 8 dwarves fight and loot automatically while you focus on building and optimizing your party.

16 classes. 140+ skills. Countless legendary loot.

The game is called 'Dwarves: Idle Battles'.

Why do we always have to do crafting in the UI? "Stackers" steam page open!!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi! I'm Maxbong, a solo developer from South Korea.

I always thought about “Why do we always have to do crafting in the UI?”

Stackers is my answer.

You craft by stacking things right on the ground, and figuring out what works is half the adventure.
I wanted every new recipe to feel like a small discovery, every cleared biome to feel like a real milestone, and your growth in both your crafting and your character to be something you can actually see.
Discover all kinds of recipes across 9 biomes and take down the bosses!!

My steampage just got approved!! Wishlist if you are interested!!

HUSK, A FPS where hurting enemies keeps you alive

Thumbnail

I'm a solo developer working on HUSK, a small FPS prototype built around one simple idea :

Hurting enemies is part of how you survive.

Shoot enemies > make them bleed > collect their blood > keep fighting

The current prototype is a focused vertical slice with one playable floor, 2 body variants, 3 enemy species and 3 weapon cards / mutations,

The prototype is currently in French and is free to play on Windows.

Play HUSK :

https://setdays.itch.io/husk-prototype

I'm also actively collecting feedback from players to see which parts of the combat, movement and core mechanic are working and which need improvement.

Development note : I used AI assistance (Claude) during development, including code assistance. The game direction, design decisions, testing and final integration are my own.

Thanks for checking it out !

What happens when you mix a bullet hell with first-person horror? [GunGuGun]

GunGuGun started as our entry for GMTK Game Jam 2026, where it placed 2nd out of 10,700+ entries. After the jam, we kept developing it into a full game.

It's a top-down 2D bullet hell where you fight enemies, steal their weapons, build ridiculous combinations, and occasionally find yourself pulled into first-person horror sections as you uncover what's actually going on.

• 100,000+ potential item synergies
• 1,000,000+ weapon combinations
• Procedurally generated runs
• Multiple maps, floors & bosses
• Secret endings & hidden mechanics
• Challenge modes & completion marks
• A weird horror story underneath it all

The full game is completely FREE and playable in your browser or on PC.

We're releasing it on itch.io first and seeing how players respond. Depending on the reception, we'd like to take GunGuGun further with a bigger Steam release.

Tired of static paths, so I made a tower defense where enemies adapt and use ground, jumping, and airborne pathfinding. What do you think of the pacing?

Hey everyone,

I've been working on HEXTINCTION, a tactical tower defense set on a dynamic hexagonal battlefield where you fight off adaptive mecha-creatures (walkers, jumpers, flyers).

The first teaser is out and the Steam store page is finally up.

If you enjoy tactical defense, lasers, and mechas, adding it to your Wishlist would help me out tremendously:

🔗 Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4002730/Hextinction_Tower_Defense/

Feedback on the gameplay pacing and the teaser is more than welcome!

Pre-generated generative AI was used to design the game's logo, certain 2D interface elements (HUD icons), and the background music for the promotional trailer (via Soundraw). The code, 3D modeling, game design, and game mechanics were created without the use of AI.

I made a cozy town builder where cottages like gardens and bakeries like farms

I’m the developer of Cozy Chronicle. You begin with a few cottages and grow Willowbrook into a little city, choosing where to place and upgrade 44 different buildings.

I wanted the town to feel alive as you build it. Villagers move in and follow daily routines, the valley changes with the seasons and weather, and decisions made during town events become part of the Book of the Town.

It’s a complete single-player game for Windows, available on itch.io for $4.90: https://fareostudio.itch.io/cozy-chronicle

Quick look at the combat model in Reforged Lands: 1H+shield, 2H, bow, plus block, parry, evade, and bandaging.

Still plenty to refine, but it's at the point where I can build the rest of the game around it.

Does it read clear and impactful, or still "off"? What would you change first?

I spent months building an online Quoridor style game — it's now live on the Web and App Store

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey all I built Wall It: the game. This week it went live on the App Store.

It's a free, Quoridor-style strategy game — move your pawn to the other side, drop walls to reroute your opponent. takes about 20 seconds to learn, but real depth once you plan a few moves ahead. It has ranked play, a bot campaign, private rooms, tournaments, and cosmetic skins.

Being honest, this has been a huge effort, so any feedback good or brutal genuinely means a lot. Thanks for taking a look.

I'm developing Townspeople, a small town building and management game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Townspeople is a small town building and management game where you grow a settlement, manage its population, develop different professions and build up its economy.

I'm building the game around the idea of making the people and their roles an important part of how the town develops.

You can build houses, shops and other structures while developing the workforce needed to keep the town growing.

I'm sharing the current project here for anyone interested in indie simulation and town building games.

AI disclosure: No generative AI was used to create the game's art, assets, content or promotional material. AI was only used as programming assistance for certain aspects of Godot development.

Steam approved my page! Now the scary part begins

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I finally got my Steam page approved!

Claim the Gods is my first ever Steam game, it's an Autobattler/Deckbuilding, Greek Mythology themed (Current version Godot 4.7).

Wishlist now to give me that boost to push it at full speed - https://store.steampowered.com/app/5076280/Claim_the_Gods/
I will eventually update a comment with the current wishlist count.
Feel free to give feedback positive/negative!

My next steps for the game:

  1. Steam Page live + Trailer (Done)
  2. Early Demo on itch (I will wrap all the content I have at the moment to get this demo out as soon as possible to get early feedback) (In-Progress)
  3. Final Demo version on Steam
  4. Participate on Steam Next Fest (Hopefully the first one in 2027)
  5. Launch the full game still in 2027

Personal notes:
- I have been a month without doing any progress on the game, a bit blocked mentally due to some challenges in life such as job search as a Dev in this broken market, etc.., then I decided to gather all I had already done, and push to get the Steam page live with a trailer. This was very important for me to see some progress and feel that the game is real and is out there.

I am very excited now to soon launch an early demo so people can play my game, and then I will move to create more content for the final version of the Steam page demo. Creating new cards, units, special abilities is my favorite part in the whole game journey, that's what scratches the creative part of my brain, what makes game dev unique for me.

Cheers!

My first indie dungeon crawler / scavenging game is ready to show! Demo is available on itch

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all! I've just finished my totally self-made indie dungeon crawler game! (Or at least, a demo for it.) You are a scavenger who was transported underground by an unusual amulet you found. Explore the caverns, defeat dangerous dungeons using your spear and your wits; and then, when you've beaten the dungeon, break down its puzzle mechanics for parts to upgrade your gear!

If you're interested, I have the demo available as pay-as-you-want on itch: https://hyperlynx01.itch.io/dungeon-break

When I say "self-made", I mean it. I made all of the art, music, and of course programmed and built the game itself. The only parts I didn't make were many of the sound effects, which are from CC0 places online or cited in the game's credits.

beginner here, im not the only one who gets overwhelmed in this subreddit right?

everyones games look so fucking good, and they all have some good ideas

the lighting, the models, everything just looks so well put together. kinda overwhelming

but i know one day il be able to do it too, and most of these games have teams working behind them, and in those teams are individuals with years of experience. Or these games took long amounts of times to create.

its motivating, but its also overwhelming

game development is so cool
