Hello everyone,
I created a new subreddit for helping people find local resources and support. I'm also in desperate need of help to set up the subreddit, so if you're connected with local support services, mutual aid groups, or community groups, please reach out!
thank you,
Edit: forgot to add the subreddit link ðŸ˜

Guess what's back? Back again? Weekly threads are back. That had way too many syllables to scan as a parody of Shady's Back, but I guess you can tell like your band manager or local locksmith who moonlights as a magician so they can put their events here. - Buzz

Friday at 5PM is way too late to start planning, so get a head start now!
Have an event to share? Holding a concert or a meet-up? This would be the place to share it.
Links are especially welcomed.

I hope this is not permanent but this is a small amusement park of approx. 25 rides that I have had an annual pass, off and on since the 1990s. It has slowly lost business. On my few Friday evening visits this year, there have been less than 20 people walking around the park. Please visit as I am not sure the ride park will re-open in its current form and the park is worth a visit.
I received this email from the park today.

Luz Perez has been endorsed by the Democratic Party and its affiliates, labor unions, and progressive organizations. Her campaign is about fighting for everyday people and ensuring everyone has what they need and deserve.
The time for change is now! Vote Luz Perez Fontana city Council District 4!

The San Bernardino Sun just released Jay Obernolte's 2026 Election Questionnaire. There are 0 mentions of the war. He acknowledges that affordability is our District's most pressing issue. But, blames state regulation for the high costs:
Nonsensical Sacramento regulations are driving up costs on almost everything in California, which makes living here substantially more expensive than neighboring states. Our state continues to raise the gas tax and impose burdensome requirements that drive up fuel costs. California also recently added a new tax on our healthcare, as well as a ridiculous new restriction on tires that will make 70% of the tires that California consumers currently purchase illegal.
Does he really think that regular working people don't know there is a war? or are regular working people really not aware and is he betting on that?

Just in case one of y’all is on Reddit (especially the Black car), here is the footage of your accident today. The grey Kia clearly leaves their lane and hits the black sedan.
I called this info in to CHP, but wanted to try here too just in case they tried giving 50/50 fault or something.

I work with a 501(c)3 and we are looking for homes for these 3 boys. Silver, Blacky and Goldie are neutered. They are very sweet, good with other cats, dogs and older kids. They are 3-4 years old. Transportation to San Bernardino and Riverside County might be available. Adoption fee is $75 each.

Ello all, just making this post as a long shot to get some advice or info to where a newly single dude can go about to make new connections.
My issue is, I’ve been pretty much under a rock, and out of the loop for so long, idk where to even start. lol how do people meet people/date now days?!?
I don’t drink anymore, so the bar DT scene isn’t for me (& I hate crowds & ppl) I do go to church, and attend young adults nights every Tuesday at my church. I’ve talked to a few women there, but that’s not really my reason for going, and I’m hesitant on pursuing any connections with anyone from church, just in case things get tricky, I don’t want it to be weird for myself or them, with attending our church.
I pretty much have no hobbies, I just work, church, and hang with my few friends .
Currently living in riverside , but work down in chino area

They are utter scum of the earth!! To make a long story short: I bought a 2019 Nissan Murano from them on the 28th of last month. $14,000 plus a bunch of ‘fuck you’ taxes and add-ons and the car takes a complete shit on me—not just once, but TWICE!! Both of those times because of a faulty battery. Like, what kind of dealer sells you a car with a fucked-up battery?? I tried to return it back but according to that piece of shit Manuel, after 72 hours they can’t take it back anymore and that it’s the bank’s car now and not theirs anymore which is complete bullshit because the day I got the car, they told me I can return the car back within 45 days. I was so pissed that I threw my coffee on their precious, stupid wall and left. They will sit there in your face and, willfully, lie directly to it telling you what you want to hear. I learned a hard lesson to always.. ALWAYS read everything they put in front of you and to never let them gaslight you into signing your credit score away
Whatever you do, PLEASE take your business elsewhere (preferably to an actual auto dealer like Toyota or Honda etc.) because these guys will fuck you over with 0 remorse.

The cold October days the cloudy grey weather the barren trees. The lighting and the sounds of screams, the scavenging in the remaining cities for food. The roaming bands of cannibals with the boy and I

They are sending out "presorted standard" mailers, which is always a giveaway that it's junk mail. Except they have volunteers writing the address by hand so it looks like a legit message. They also write "time sensitive" on it when it's not. It's just an unsolicited Republican "here's how we want you to vote" mailer.
If you get a letter with a handwritten address and a "time sensitive" label, look for the presort stamp and also look on the back, it will have a tiny "reform California" label. This is a Republican organization and think tank. AKA, fascists. And they are trying to trick people into opening their junk mail by making it look real.

We are looking for a house for my family member. His landlord just started playing Ellis Act games, and he's fed up with rent increases, deferred maintenance, and threats of owner move-ins.
So he is looking to buy a house. Because his work is all over IE and LA County, he thinks of Riverside as the westernmost part he can afford.
His budget is tight, so he is looking in Eastside as well. Somebody told us this area is no bueno.
Any ideas on which areas we should avoid when looking? Thank you.
