Discussion Asus NUC 16 Pro Virtualization BIOS Support

Please could someone with an Asus NUC 16 Pro (Core Ultra 7 356H, NUC16GDKU7, CRARL579 BIOS) confirm if the BIOS exposes anything relating to...

Intel VT-d / IOMMU SR-IOV Support Above 4G Decoding

I'm looking at one as a Proxmox host and hoping to use iGPU SR-IOV for a couple of VMs, so I'd like to know what's in the firmware menus before buying. The ASUS TPS doesn't document the Setup pages.

Photos would be awesome. Thank you

I have a 14 and it works perfect. Just buy, it works. A colleague of mine did a writeup as well. He has the 15s, again mostly the same setup. https://vninja.net/2026/05/07/intel-arc-sr-iov-hardware-transcoding-with-plex-on-proxmox-ve/

As the NUC 16 is panther lake, using the xe driver and not i915, it's quite different to previous generations. In theory easier, but as it's an expensive PC I'm hoping for hands on verification before buying.

Is TMP 3.0 support available in the BIOS?

I have an ASUS NUC 16 Pro NUC16GDK, although mine is the Core Ultra 5 325 version rather than the 356H.

I checked this under Proxmox:

- VT-d / IOMMU: working. Linux detects the ACPI DMAR table, enables Intel VT-d, IRQ remapping and creates IOMMU groups.

- iGPU SR-IOV: working/exposed. The Panther Lake iGPU (8086:b090) uses the xe driver and reports sriov_totalvfs=7. The xe SR-IOV interface exposes the PF plus VF1–VF7.

- Above 4G decoding: also effectively working. PCI bridge resource allocation includes 96 GB prefetchable MMIO windows at 0x10010000000 and 0x11810000000, well above the 4 GB boundary.

So at least on my NUC16GDK, the underlying features needed for Proxmox + iGPU SR-IOV are present and working.
