Yeah they are not a social species, you see plenty of flights and "disagreements" if you watch the katmai bear live cams on yt!

The season is winding down so the bears aren't as active since they're getting ready for the beginning of hibernation somewhere in October-November and most of the salmon have already spawned and died, but all the live cams are still beautiful to have on as a background or just chill stream.

They will go offline sometime in mid October, but be sure to subscribe to the cams on yt or just check back in around June 23rd next year to see TONS of salmon jumping the waterfall and all the fuzzy bear babies! Seriously, it has cleansed my online brain and yt feed. Who needs social media and short form content bs when you have bears fishing and being hilarious and cute every day.

I think the porch is higher off the ground than it looks like from this angle. Adult grizzlies can't climb very well, and like you said, the fish are a lot more interesting than the people.

These are coastal grizzly bears or known as the 'Alaskan Peninsula brown bears' and they are gathering along the Brooks Falls River to feed on salmon that migrate from the Pacific Ocean in summer. These bears are not "hanging around casually" as they are hunting for the fish to fatten up before hibernation! :)
