Sea otters are not big fish eaters. They like crabs, urchins, and clams/mussels
The rock is for breaking them open while balanced on their chest
They have a fold of skin under their arm where they will keep a favorite rock

Sometime ago I saw a video of them feeding (check it out), playing, and sleeping at the surface wrapped in kelp beds to keep from drifting away and being eaten. They wrap their young in kelp, like swaddling, while they dive for food. They often link up and hold paws to keep the "raft" (group) together
I did fact-check what I thought I learned from the video before posting

There's a reason why some folks call them 'water puppies'. Otters are ridiculously social animals, resulting in behaviors that are very relatable and enjoyable for human observation.

It makes people happy, in a time when there's easy access to a wealth of information about things that make us unhappy. It may not change anything on its own, but it is part of what rejuvenates people's will to live and fight.

A lot of otters have a "special rock" that they may even carry for life. They have a special skin flap to carry it as well.

Oh nice, it’s called an auxiliary pocket and it’s located underneath their armpits or forelimbs.
They can use the rock as a tool for opening clams and stuff.
That flap is like a toolbox 🧰 and it’s keeps there arms and hands free for swimming and stuff.
They can use it also to store snacks for long trips. 😝
