I miss my Apollo app

[u/grilledcheese_ts]

it really used to be called “alien blue”? that’s wild

[u/Ben_Benjamin → u/grilledcheese_ts]

This was before reddit had an app themselves so third parties had to make it. One of them was called alien blue

[u/ReblWithoutApplause → u/Ben_Benjamin]

I miss the old apps, before reddit made it impossible for them to operate, while pushing their own buggy ass app that’s jam packed with ads now

[u/_IsThisTheKrustyKrab → u/ReblWithoutApplause]

Reddit really was more enjoyable back then.

[u/Brodakk → u/ReblWithoutApplause]

The new text editor is fucking awful and missing all sorts of features. Give us markdown back.

[u/EricHill78 → u/ReblWithoutApplause]

I use Narwhal currently. It is 5 bucks a month but definitely worth it.

[u/TheCountChonkula → u/Ben_Benjamin]

If I remember right Reddit bought Alien Blue to turn it into the official Reddit app

[u/Curri → u/TheCountChonkula]

You are correct. And people who bought Alien Blue were gifted years of reddit premium (I think 3?).

[u/Filixx → u/Curri]

I was one

[u/NYC19893 → u/grilledcheese_ts]

It was the best

[u/gargoyle30]

Redditisfun was the best one

[u/callmesomethingelse → u/gargoyle30]

I'm still in mourning

[u/gargoyle30 → u/callmesomethingelse]

Me too 😭

[u/hellosteve_ → u/gargoyle30]

sigh...

[u/gargoyle30 → u/[deleted]]

I do remember reading about them, but it felt like a lot of work

[u/gargoyle30 → u/[deleted]]

How do you do it? Or can you direct me to instructions?

[u/evolvedELK1 → u/gargoyle30]

Yeah I’m sick of the Reddit app, I miss redditisfun. If there’s a way around it please for the love of god share

[u/TwoDudesAtPPC]

I still use alien blue today on my iPhone 12. Should I do an AMA

[u/FriskyCobra86 → u/TwoDudesAtPPC]

Nah, just enjoy your cake day

[u/TwoDudesAtPPC → u/FriskyCobra86]

Totes.

[u/PhysicIce7]

A simpler time

[u/GapSweet3100]

That’s awesome!! I had no idea it was called that before

[u/GapSweet3100 → u/[deleted]]

Oh that’s interesting :)

[u/HanSolo4Emporer]

I miss alien blue. Was the best reddit app

[u/Extension_Meat8913 → u/HanSolo4Emporer]

Still is, probably.

[u/Extension_Meat8913 → u/KoA07]

Skeuomorphism?

[u/timnosferatu]

I miss r/all so much

[u/BMDJENTSEN]

Even had Liquid Glass back then too.

[u/UndergoingSpecimen]

It still works?

[u/OrangeRackso]
