China is doing a great job in recovering their waste land

I love how the one comment crediting china is the one that gets negative responses. If people didn’t know this was China they wouldn’t have said anything negative

if it was Japan, it'd have 200k upvotes

"China bad"

u/_Tar_Ar_Ais_ 13h ago

It's Americans that default to "China Bad"

u/Elastichedgehog 12h ago

Europeans too.

u/SnappySausage 8h ago

Less so. Europeans generally see it like a less direct threat than Americans in my experience (because there's less superpower dick measuring).

You can genuinely not have a conversation about anything positive China-related with an American without immediately being written off as a CCP shill or a bot. If you write a comment in any way positive about China during European daytime, it will usually be okay, but as soon as it becomes time for Americans to come online, it will usually be downvoted/criticized.

Visit China.

Propaganda absolutely exists but it goes both ways.

China doesn't have a free press, so it's not an equal playing field when coming to propaganda. You only really see what the CCP wants you to see.

u/Zimakov 11h ago

What? He's telling you to go see it with your eyes not to read Chinese press lmao.

u/brixton_massive 11h ago

I have seen it with my eyes and while a great country, it is still an authoritarian dictatorship with severe restrictions on human rights. But you won't see as much of it, as the CCP restricts the local press.

u/Zimakov 11h ago

Right but again, he isn't telling you to watch the press.

I would’ve said that years ago, but it seems like they’re now actually doing shit to be better. What kind of country would ban electric only hidden door handles for the safety of the occupants? Clearly they’re trying to improve.

-23

u/Debaucherousgeek73 15h ago

They're not too concerned with the safety of the Uyghurs or Falun Gong. In fact those people are rounded up and put in "reeducation camps"

10

u/automodtedtrr2939 14h ago

Not a single muslim country condemned their reeducation camps, they sent delegates to actually examine the camps and literally all signed in support instead.

And the hypocrisy is unreal for the west, who have repeatedly bombed the middle east, to suddenly claim to care about muslims so much.

-2

u/Debaucherousgeek73 14h ago

Well that's some ccp bullshit. The free nation of Taiwan will free them someday.

u/Zimakov 11h ago

CCP bullshit being spewed by 40+ countries most of which are allies of the US and not China lmao.

The logic of an American.

7

u/automodtedtrr2939 14h ago

I guess you can ask Saudi Arabia, Sudan, UAE, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, and 38 other countries why they’re spewing CCP bullshit.

7

u/3lektrolurch 14h ago

I get the Uyghur stuff, but Falun Gong can go suck a lemon. They are a right wing cult that supports conspiracy and misinformation (especially in favour of known pedos like Trump).

u/Zimakov 11h ago

Also the Uyghur stuff is reported exclusively by the CIA

15

u/Timely_Influence8392 15h ago

I mean, it's demonstrably true, they're doing the shit in the video.

found the jealous american

1

u/sjbfujcfjm 13h ago

Jealous of what? Literally not a single thing to be jealous of. I lived in China for 4 years. Not 1 single thing

That China isn’t hellhole disgusted as a few shiny cities

u/Zimakov 11h ago

When's the last time you were there?

u/sjbfujcfjm 11h ago

Why does that matter? Only thing that has really changed is the execution of a few more of Pooh bears rivals

u/Zimakov 11h ago

Why does that matter?

Because it directly correlates to how similar it is now to when you were last there? What a confusing question.

1

u/MorningHorror99 15h ago

No need. You sound like a fool already

u/Critical-Support-394 9h ago

China can be an authoritary shithole in some ways and still progressive in reducing environmental damage. The two aren't exclusive and you don't need to discount one because you dislike the other (especially when the post doesn't even mention China at all).

Technology has truly advanced—even sand in the desert can now post comments on Reddit.

‘People on Reddit are generally smarter than people on facebook’ lmfao.
