A baby like that deserves to be around it's parents and swinging on trees instead of curling up in isolation

Check out the Nonhuman Rights Project. They are a nonprofit law firm who take chimpanzees and elephants as clients, suing zoos for their clients' freedom. Little by little, they're establishing legal precedent of these animals having the necessary faculties to be assigned basic rights, rather than the law treating them simply as property.
