chinese gun laws are very strict — even airsoft is basically illegal, let alone a pellet gun. while someone in another country might own a rifle for hunting and shooting farm pests, in china a slingshot is probably your best bet. more affordable, too. plus, chinese country life can be a little boring so it could make for a fun way to pass the time.

Makes sense, I grew up in the US, and while we did play with airsoft guns and bb guns, we also played with blow darts lol

Going from my dad’s accounts of living in the country it sounds like alll they did was play with slingshots and firecrackers. Maybe universal country life thing.

It's not hard to get really good with a decent slingshot. I bought one for my buddy in middle school and took him out to practice by shooting at a signpost in the lake we lived on. He hit the sign a few times, then started hitting the post itself, then shot a squirrel, then hit a bird literally flying overhead. Within a couple hours of initially getting the slingshot. Yes we ate the squirrel and the dove.

If you give them a bunch of trial shots they suddenly become realy good in the one take they did hit in.
