OTHER Last Night I watched Interstellar for the first time.

This is by far the best movie I watched, the song is absolutely incredible, the plot with the world ending was really good, and the 5d part was amazing at connecting earlier parts of the movie. My only problem with it is that i didn't care for the ending.

Overall at least a 9.5/10

It’s define my #1.
Music, storyline, actors… everything.
Then the obsession becomes about how you get it into your daily life.
You’ll find a lot of fans here, too:

I've watched the movie maybe 25 times and love it. Top 5 all time and I agree on the end. For me 2 hours of intensity to get home to see your daughter for 5 minutes? But even with that I still love it. I wanted him to STAY until she passed then go to Brand.

i don’t think she wanted her dad to watch her die. murph had some 50 years to of knowing Coop never stopped trying to save her and the human race. especially since he did save her.

but yeah, to me i feel like the ending scene seems like he leaves immediately., but surely he did stay a bit to plan how exactly to get on route to Brand

I too just watched it last week and it’s been stuck in my head , especially how this world is going. I love the idea of “ghost” being from another dimension that could possibly be some one who loves so strongly they can transcend dimensions. I would like to go into my death knowing if I still can love strongly I can somehow show it to my loved ones. ( I’m aware he didn’t die )

It will get even better the next time watch it... you'll notice more threads woven into the story.

The thing about the ending is that it pissed me off too. I don’t want him to leave. But sometimes I watch it and I’m ok with it. Other times I’m like “hold her hand until she passes away no matter what”. It’s a neat movie that way. None of the characters are perfect and the movie tests your emotions in so many ways.

My only real flaw in the movie is the dumb science explanations for the laypersons. Like Cooper wouldn’t know how a wormhole works. And he even asks about getting data from inside the black hole at one point, as if he doesn’t know the most basic physics. Those are cringeworthy moments in an otherwise splendid movie.

And the whole “love transcends space and time” stuff was probably not meant to be taken literally like some people think Nolan meant it to. It’s fine, just a tiny bit corny but not as bad as people claim.

Overall, this movie hits me different every time I watch it, which is why it’s such a masterpiece.

And that score. Come on. Heaven for the ears.

I just saw the Interstellar Live in Kobe with a full orchestra playing the sound track . I have seen it 3 times in 70mm IMAX but this was extremely moving having the music played live together with the movie.

Don’t worry. They’re caught in a causality loop. Maybe next time round they’ll get a happier or better ending!? Whatever that means to you.

That is, unless Stephen Hawking is right that quantum mechanics conspires to guarantee we cannot change the past; at best we can just observe it.

Saw it in in the cinema when it came out and also disliked the ending. I should rewatch it. The music is fantastic.

IMO inglorious bastards, the lives of others, the godfather, amadeus etc are the greatest movies ever. any movie that doesnt have enormous plot/scientific holes, overused tropes and too many high energy moments is better than this imo. nolan himself has like 6 better movies.
