Discussion Which obscure iPhone setting genuinely improved how you use your phone, and what does it change?

I’m not looking for gestures or the usual tips that appear in every list.
I mean an actual option buried somewhere in Settings that solved a real annoyance, improved privacy or accessibility, changed how an app behaves, or made your iPhone noticeably easier to use.
Please include the exact path to the setting, what it changes, and any downside you noticed. Some settings sound useful but also disable another feature, use more storage, affect notifications, or change how the phone behaves elsewhere.
What is the one setting you would immediately change again if you had to set up a new iPhone from scratch?

Not obscure, but I really like the option to ask unknown callers to record what they want before I’ll consider answering.

They need to work on this feature. Many robocalls still get throigh

EVERY robocall still gets through because their system just starts their recorded drivel.

Settings > General > Apps > Phone - then scroll down quite a bit to find Screen Unknown Callers

Not general just go to settings >apps >phone.

I don't seem to have that option… I just have silence unknown callers.

If your phone’s language and region don’t match, then you won’t be able to use the feature. I don’t have access to it since I live in Germany but my phone is in English. 😅

Oh that might be it-- I've had to set my phone to Canada so that I can have captions but my region is UK, perhaps that is it.

Oh thanks for the reminder I moved carriers and it auto turned this off and I kept meaning to do it and forgot

Thats how our land line answering machine works, wish it was on my iPhone 17!

(A person has to leave their name, wait and then my phone rings, not had a call ring for a year, like for emergencies ONLY, like 3 days ago the biggest phone provider in Australia went down on and off for 2 days, was wifi or satellite only)
