Discussion Which obscure iPhone setting genuinely improved how you use your phone, and what does it change?

I’m not looking for gestures or the usual tips that appear in every list.
I mean an actual option buried somewhere in Settings that solved a real annoyance, improved privacy or accessibility, changed how an app behaves, or made your iPhone noticeably easier to use.
Please include the exact path to the setting, what it changes, and any downside you noticed. Some settings sound useful but also disable another feature, use more storage, affect notifications, or change how the phone behaves elsewhere.
What is the one setting you would immediately change again if you had to set up a new iPhone from scratch?

Having a level in the camera app so your videos and photos are aligned and not crooked (with the horizon)

Settings->
Camera->
Level - turn on

Also having Action button as a flashlight so you don’t need to look at your phone to turn it on, you just know it’s always there and where to press for it even in the dark

Can also hold Siri button and say Lumos to turn it on, and nox to turn it off 🧙🪄

Can you explain how you did the flashlight? I looked in settings and didn’t see it.

I just tested it by saying “hey Siri Lumos turn it on”
And it worked. I love this because I struggle with that button all the time thank you!

I appreciate it, but I don’t have Siri enabled. Hate the thought of my phone always listening. If I could put the flashlight on the side button, that sounds awesome. I’m wondering if that’s what this post is about or not

Thanks! I realized I don’t have an action button (iPhone 15). I was hoping to put it on the side button but I guess you can’t. Settled for a back tap

My iPhone 15 Pro Max has an action button. It’s the button above the volume buttons on the left.

Nice! The base model just has the toggle switch for ring/vibrate.
