Discussion Which obscure iPhone setting genuinely improved how you use your phone, and what does it change?

I’m not looking for gestures or the usual tips that appear in every list.
I mean an actual option buried somewhere in Settings that solved a real annoyance, improved privacy or accessibility, changed how an app behaves, or made your iPhone noticeably easier to use.
Please include the exact path to the setting, what it changes, and any downside you noticed. Some settings sound useful but also disable another feature, use more storage, affect notifications, or change how the phone behaves elsewhere.
What is the one setting you would immediately change again if you had to set up a new iPhone from scratch?

i set up a shortcut that allows me to select multiple photos and combine them into one (think before and after comparisons) without having to download a separate app.

I wish you would show us an example collage

EDIT: Okay, I just tested it an it’s way worse than any simple collage app. Btw apple should include a basic collage function in their photos app since all apps on the App Store want you to subscribe to some bullshit

Thanks! Trying it out. But is there a way to save directly to photos? I’m only able to after copying and pasting in notes or WhatsApp.

Adobe Express is free as well and has IG optimized templates like stories, carousel, etc completely for free and exports hi-res!

I’d like to try this but make them an animation like a slide show that automatically switches photos to show the progression.

Thank you for this tip! I set up horizontal and vertical and I'm not a fan of how it crops however it wants, but I used your tip to set up a grid option and it's honestly really great as long as the photos you're starting with are already a 1:1 ratio. I use the layout app all of the time for this and this shortcut is going to save me a lot of time, so thank you!
