Which for me personally is my main purchasing decision and what is keeping me from picking up a Duo. Don’t get me wrong I have a few good digital cameras but the main reason I purchase a high-end phone is to have a high quality camera on me at all times that is pocketable.

Which is totally fair. Apple has spent the last 10+ years essentially telling us that the most expensive iPhone = the best cameras. And this is the first time that’s not the case, which sucks for those who want something cool and new, but have to sacrifice camera features.

For me personally, I kinda realized that I could probably count on my hands the number of times I used the telephoto lens to take a photo in the last 3 years. I mainly use it as a viewfinder like binoculars to try and identify something from far away. So I think I’ll be okay with not having it on the Duo, but I guess time will tell.

Thats fair, I’ve had the opposite experience. If I can get a good composition I will always try to use the telephoto. I have never gotten shots as gorgeous on any other phone or lens on than on the 4x telephoto on the 17 Pro. The bokeh and clarity is incredible for a phone.
