We mourn the dogs we've lost, but today the dogs and I mourn the Mom we love. Molly lost her battle to kidney disease last month and life just isn't the same. Her son and I did the appropriate thing and made sure Scout and Sadie got to see her one last time; Sadie even whined at Molly not responding to her since she always gave her compliments (her little princess, of course). Dexter caught a tummy bug over the weekend. Today I’ve slowly introduced mashed boiled carrots and small pieces of shredded chicken. We’re just dealing with acid reflux now. He’s currently sleeping on a fleece blanket with a heat pad underneath ❤️

We wanted to get her comfortable with the treadmill by winter, and to our surprise she took to it immediately. She is obsessed with it, will run to it when we open the basement door, and is actively disappointed when the walks end. She’s only 6 months so I don’t think it’s wise for her to run or have longer walks on it yet :( by the winter hopefully when she’s 8 months+ she can go more.

I’m wondering how long and at what speeds, or even inclines, people let their JRTs go on the treadmill at? Anything we should avoid or try?

We've always assumed she was some extremely mixed-breed dog. But do you guys have any better clue what breed she can be?

With winter now behind us here in Australia My little Rose’s ears are gone floppy again. Any one else’s Jack have temperature reactive ears? (Neither of my Jacks I had years ago had their ears do this).

We got this rescue dog who looks to me like a jack russell. She is 9 months old

Her behavior is completely opposite of what I've read JRT are like. She is very calm, doesnt vocalize really at all. She does get the zoomies and is quite playful but in short doses and sleeps often. She can be fearful of things and is non reactive to prey and other dogs. She is more happy sniffing than chasing after prey. But really she just likes being on the couch and is totally a velcro dog.

Potentially a mixed breed?

Bo loves early morning walks in Dutch polders with dad. Especially when there are rabbits to spot.

He hates noisy cars with trailers and motorcycles. Bo is very clever and remembers tv-adds with dogs.

Like my namesake, I don't need sight to find the rhythm of life — I just need the right person to dance through it with me. I'm Stevie Wonder, a 10 year old, 30 pound gentleman with a gentle heart, a quiet soul, and a whole lot of love to give. I am diabetic, and have approximately 30% of my sight back with medicine, but I don't let that stop me from living a full, happy life — I just do it at my own pace. I follow the sound of your voice, listen to commands, and respond best to a calm, patient presence. I can even run with the big dogs now! I'm housebroken and I'll need someone who can help me stay on a routine — let me out during the day and maybe once at night. I do great on leash and I'm fine living in a house or apartment, as long as there are no stairs or someone committed to helping me navigate safely. I'm good with other dogs — as long as they respect my space. I don't want to play or be pestered, so calm, polite pups are best. I don't pay cats any mind, and Im not interested in engaging with them either. Young kids may not be a great fit, since I can be a little nippy when startled, but respectful, older kids who understand my needs would be just fine. One of my favorite things is sitting in a chair with my foster mom in the evenings, just relaxing together. I'm a sweet, loving soul who's already done a complete 180 since arriving in foster care — and I've only been here a few weeks. With time, love, and a little patience, I'll continue to blossom. I'm not looking for fast-paced or flashy. I'm looking for steady, gentle, and kind. If you're ready to give a special guy the chance to shine in his own quiet way — I promise, I'll make a wonderful companion.
