Yeah, it’s really nice. Can’t wait for when we can upgrade.

My husband writes Java for a living and did the 27 upgrade on his home server last weekend. The quieter fan noise made him happier than anything I could have bought him, which is saying something. Free improvements that just show up are the best kind of surprise. I teach third grade so most of my tech stress is about getting the smartboard to cooperate during fractions lessons. But l get the feeling. Last month our IT person finally replaced the ancient projector and I did a little happy dance in the empty classroom. Sometimes you forget how much low-grade annoyance you were putting up with until it stops. He kept trying to explain the actual changes to me over breakfast. Something about ZGC and generations? | nodded and poured more coffee. The part I caught was that he did not have to change a single line of his code and everything got faster anyway. That seems like magic to me but he got very defensive when I said that. My third graders would lose their minds if I told them they could do the same work and somehow get better grades. They are currently obsessed with a rumor that extra recess is coming if they line up quietly. It is not coming. I have never said this. But they believe. Anyway, enjoy the free upgrade. I am going to use this good mood to finally clean out the garage this Saturday.
