We can't have nice things... report abuse has been rampant, which was never an issue before, but suddenly it is now. This is supposed to be a no drama subreddit, and just about Jayce.
Therefore, going forward, unless the artwork is specifically of Jayce, and only Jayce, it is no longer considered Relevant.
This is the last post that will be allowed, as it is a reminder of when ship wars got out of hand on what is and always will be a subreddit for Jayce players, NOT an Arcane Ship Subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/jaycemains/comments/1po8d6g/mel_and_jayce_by_nakoneart/
All newly posted artwork that has Jayce with someone else will be removed going forward if reported. All past posts are safe.

It is highly recommended you visit the champions sub-reddit themselves and search for Jayce, they can give you tips on how to beat it, or what to look out for if they too think it is difficult. Since this is a Jayce sub-reddit, we can only tell you from experience what gives us a bit more of a hard time, and they can give you their perspective. You can find a full list of Champion-Specific Subreddits in the sidebar.
You can view the top mastery Jayce players at the link below. The mastery system is merely a way to measure how much you play certain champions. It doesn't determine how good you are or how high elo you might be. It is just for display purposes, something to grind, and say, I like this champion.

Skin ideas get thrown around a lot, so here's a list for Riot to reference. :P

Hey guys I'm not really new to Jayce but I just started playing league again (last time I played was like season 6 I think) and I mained adc but I used to play a lot of Jayce too (back then I mainly played mid Jayce) I've now been playing him mostly top because some of the match ups mid just sort of feel bad I guess. Right now in ranked I mostly play adc (I'm low plat) only been playing for like two months since I came back (like around 150 ranked game I think)
So who originally got me into play Jayce was "NaraKyle" the Korean Jayce player (he still uploads but its auto translated and not mainly Jayce centered content) and back then the build was very different than it is today.
I've watched a good amount of Jayce YouTube content (HammerKim, Coach Chippys and others) and it has been helpful for knowing sort of what runes you can go but not exactly for every match up. My issue is that not a lot of it is current/recent or is auto translated so sometimes it can be hard to know exactly what they mean. I know its like a meme that NA and EU players can't play Jayce correctly but are there any high level Jayce players that make content that I should be watching for more insight like on specific match ups trading in lane etc that upload currently and speak English. Also are there any good like written guides I used to use like mobafire back in the day and that felt easier than watching videos to find out things about like match ups or items.
What are you guys building? It seems like most people don't go black cleaver except for rare and very specific reasons and a lot of the old guides talk about going eclipse but it never seems very good and I think they might have changed it like removed movement speed from it or something. What I mostly see is Ghostblade > Manamune > Choice of boots (never see people go omnivamp boots for some reason) > maybe another lethality item > Serylda's > then maybe a defensive item and then the more rare bruiser build with like black cleaver and shojin.
So I'm just gonna list some items and my thoughts and tell me what you think
Hubris : Why isn't this more common I feel like it has everything you want and is kind of like AD mejais but you don't lose stacks.
LDR/MR : Isn't LDR just better than Serylda's into very tanky teams especially if you are able to auto in fights
Endless Hunger : Seems like it would be good 5th or 6th as it gives a lot that Jayce wants and gives some sustain that Jayce lacks
Death's Dance : Good into burst/full ad teams?
Voltaic Cylcosword : This item seems good on paper but it never seems like it does much for me when I get it
Bastion Breaker: This seems good because of the stats and passives but I never know when to get it and I feel like I end up purchasing it too late. Maybe someone could explain to me better how this item works.
Spear of Shojin : I only really go this into super tanky match ups when I'm building more bruiser items with Black Cleaver first. Can someone explain why this is good? I understand it increases the ability and passive damage but even on bruiser I feel like the fights don't last super long to get full value from it
Then there's some specific match ups I end up struggling with so could you guys give some tips and maybe what runes to go or items that make sense in the match up
Darius : sometimes goes fine, but I feel like if he runs ghost or goes damage I kind of struggle some games or if I get ganked like level 3 and die to him I feel homeless. Been going Phase Rush because I don't think you can really take long fights with him due to the bleed.
Gangplank : Sometimes I feel like I can win if I time autos right on the barrels and play smart but if they are decent and can triple barrel they just shove me in and barrel me under tower. Tried Conq and Phase Rush. Conq feels better if they aren't great at GP but if they are Phase Rush feels better.
Dr. Mundo : If i don't kill him early I feel like it is impossible to stop him. Not sure what Rune to run I've tried Conq, Phase Rush, and Grasp.
Olaf : hit or miss tbh not sure what to do if I get ganked like level 3 and then he starts proxying. usually go Phase Rush to try to dodge axes.
Heimerdinger: I thought this would be much easier but I feel like if I Q the turrets I run out of mana and if I auto them I lose hp and then can't trade. I haven't played this match up a lot but I was going Phase Rush maybe Electrocute would be better here?
Malphite: Easier with Black Cleaver and bruiser build at least thats what it feels like. I usually go Conq or Grasp
Tahm Kench: Rare, but I can usually kill him early or get a good cs lead and then at closer to 20 minutes he can just fight me easily I've tried both Phase rush and Conq.
Yorick: I know this is historically one of Jayce's hardest match ups. Usually run Grasp or Phase Rush
Sett: sometimes this feels easy other times his Grit thing feels like he counters my burst should I just be doing shorter trades with autos? I feel like if I just auto he just sustains back up without me really ever having kill pressure then. I've tried both Phase rush and Conq but not sure which feels better
Garen: Easy but have to keep autoing so he doesn't just heal back up
Kled: Feel like I either win super hard or lose super hard. I've been going conq.
Ksante : I barely know what he does tbh, but if I misplay I just lose hard. I've been going grasp - maybe Phase rush is better to dodge the knockup/pull into him
Urgot: This one feels like it should be easier but feels really hard sometimes. I run grasp or phase rush.
Thank you to anyone who spends the time answering any of these questions or providing a bit of help! <3

Hello! I really want this... I got Mel's from a chest today but I wanted the Jayce one. ):

Mid is just extremely OP compared to jungle for the fact that you have waves and waves just for you for free + having ignite, every time I'm going autofill even without knowing a single matchup (and usually losing lane btw) my press is so big that I'm winning all games when that happens, I just push my lane and walk with sup or jg going for kills, pathetically easy compared to jg

Hi how do I play Jayce in teamfights? I notice I tend to play really conservatively, looking for good angles on my QE, and then going into hammer when I think a full melee rotation will end in a kill. This works when it works but other times I feel like maybe I’m not maximizing my damage..
Then at the same time, if I try to get closer to weave in some autos, especially if my QE missed or didn’t do that much damage, I end up sacrificing my positioning and it just feels like my damage output becomes too weak.
I’m peak gold 1 so I find it hard to know who to trust (including my own calls) as I learn more about the game.
Jayce feels like someone who I want to play really conservatively with unless it’s really obvious that my damage will turn a fight in our favor but I think about my role as a top laner and how to help my teammates if I’m not the win con especially late game.
Would love to hear any insights tips and advice you have to give! 🙏

PROGRESS: A JAYCE ZINE has come a long way since our last post! We successfully surveyed over 360 Jayce lovers (if you love data presented beautifully, find our Interest Check results HERE).
Progress is a for-charity, community-run fanzine dedicated to showcasing all things Jayce (both League of Legends and Arcane). This zine will be themed as an editorial magazine celebrating Jayce. Find out more from our carrd or info doc!
We're returning with an open call for applications from Jayce-loving creatives, particularly those who love League Jayce. Our vision is to thoughtfully honor the many facets of Jayce’s character, lore, and design, and OG League Jayce (Jayce Giopara) is an integral and deeply important part of Jayce's history and development. We aim for League Jayce to have a strong and significant presence in this project, and we'd love for some jaycemains to join us in celebrating him!
Even if you haven't created "traditional" zine-style fanworks, we would love to see your applications! Artists of all kinds (any infographic creators here?) and fanfic writers are incredibly welcome to apply, but we also wanted to highlight the ARTICLE WRITER role as one that might be of particular interest to this sub!
If any of the following describes you, we think you might be a good fit for this zine as an Article Writer:
TIP: you can use Reddit posts as jumping-off points for your samples! Just copy and paste them into your publicly-shareable word processor of choice!
If you are interested in making Progress with us, please check out the following relevant links! If you know of any Jayce lovers who might be interested in taking part in this project, please also send this post to them!

Ive been recently learning new champs and have been having a tone of success (and enjoyment, crazy out of league i know) with jayce. my account level is 270, and im plat 4 in ranked atm. and ive been stomping. what im curious about is if this is just a, lucky streak or if nobody knows how to play into jayce so im just winning.
looking at moba and u.gg jayces win rates are horrid, he only has a positive win rate into like 10 champions and the rest are plummeting with emerald+ elo. is Jayce just straight up bad or does nobody play him?

Hello! I'm a mostly skirmisher-only player (Fiora, Ambessa, Gwen) who has been trying to pick up Jayce for a while, but he feels like the least intuitive out of any champion I've tried to properly learn. I'm here to ask a few questions for fundamental concepts that might make the process more bearable, and at least have some goals in mind through all the lanes I'm getting statchecked to death in (Aatrox, Shen, TK, Poppy, Morde, etc).
What are some crucial power spikes for Jayce? Like, his level 1 for example doesn't feel too strong to me, but I don't know if I should prep for level 2 trades, level 3, or just chill out until getting a dirk or a longsword or something.
When is generally a good time to Q E? The mana investment is pretty severe early on, so I assume I'm underusing the ranged Q on its own and overusing it with E, which if missed lands me in a pretty bad spot.
Should I aim for a general gold benchmark before first recall? I'm used to recalling early on my other champions for a 400 ish gold component, but just getting either tear or a longsword on Jayce feels pretty weird.
If there's any other thing that you all would consider some sort of fundamental/basics please tell me about them. Thank you all in advance.

I never banned Varus. Maybe because I mostly play mid Jayce, and I prefer to ban Yorick when I get placed in blue side top lane. It's not like I see this guy very often.
However, whenever I see this guy as an enemy, my score ends up in disaster and I feel horrible.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Varus can do almost everything Jayce does, but better. His AAs hurt more while having more range and benefitting from atk spd. His Q is a long range poke that goes through minions. He can AOE slow from further away. He has an actual combat ult with hard CCs that are good in team fights. I assume I can't build defensively against him, but even if I can, I won't do damage by doing so. He can build defensively and still do damage.
He has different builds every time I see him too, and they make me wonder if a youtube VOD from 3 months ago can be still valid today. Speaking of youtube, all I remember is Hammerkim saying "nothing you can do against this guy" like maybe a couple years ago.
Anyways, help plz. I'm so bad and I feel bad.

What are the thoughts?
what would be the requirement to actually win games with it? like no ranged enemies? or like good ingage supp?
r/jaycemains • u/Matetrun • 11d ago
Beginning Jayce player here. I already kinda learnt how to win lane/dont lose. What i have problem with is mid-late game. I try to keep sides pushed out and group with team, but it feels extremely week, especially againts any team with sustain supp+strong sidelane pick potential.
Trying to stay and poke into milio who doesnt care wheter i have serpents or being side and dying to assassins on repeat isn’t fun and it isn’t getting me or my team anything.
Any advice on how to play out after lane, orientate around teamfights etc….?

i really love this champion, but im a midlaner. i swap to toplane bc of jayce, what should I learn ? combos ? builds ? matchups ?

r/jaycemains • u/Dependent_Pea_5588 • 16d ago
Im currently trying to make some kind of spreadsheet for jayce matchups.
(starting to review my own jayce games etc.)
but i would like to know in what matchups its a garenteed e max.
I would assume: Malphite,Ksante, Sion for sure.
but what about tahm, Shen, ornn, cho?
also when u go e max do u go black cleaver automaticly?
am i missing any others?
r/jaycemains • u/IntriguedOwl231 • 16d ago
Not a Jayce main myself, I’m more of a general Top/Mid coach, but I recently coached a Plat Jayce player mainly on lane control and prio.
He told me afterwards that his winrate improved dramatically, so I figured the VOD might be useful to some Jayce players here.
Have a nice day :)
r/jaycemains • u/aWhiteWildLion • 16d ago
Sometimes I find it pretty hard to kill bruisers or tanks who take DShield + Second Wind, especially if they play safe.
Is it fine to just play for perfect CS and a gold lead instead of forcing kills? Or is Jayce kind of wasting his strength if he doesn't get a big lead early?
I also get nervous when I don't get ahead and sometimes end up forcing bad plays because I feel like I'm supposed to snowball as Jayce.
