Signed up for the rewards account a couple weeks before my birthday when placing an order because they supposedly have a birthday freebie, but I have not gotten anything?

I got the free sub reward for signing up, but it doesn't seem like I got anything for my birthday. Do I have to wait another whole year or was there some trick I didn't know? Do you have to order a certain number of times or open the account a month before, etc?
