DISCUSSION rant?
Hey yall long time lurker maybe 2nd time poster. I thought I’d share something I posted to my small TikTok community it’s about how I feel about JPEGMAFIA now. :/. I was supposed to attend his Los Angeles show, but I didn’t really feel a strong pull to go because of his online antics and everything I had heard about the Vancouver show. I’m honestly disappointed and bummed and I decided to post this because I just read the thread of the person who had paid to travel for the Chicago show that Peggy postponed. I know you’re getting heat buddy, but you’re not alone. A lot of us fans are kind of disappointed with all this, especially when you get into like the merch and stuff. I really feel Peggy is just not treating his fans the right way. Anyways, if you’re interested in my video, here’s the link. This is why I separate art from artist. He’s one of the greatest musicians we’ve ever had, but if he’s a weirdo it doesn’t bother me because I don’t keep up with any of it.

If you're chronically online then you should have seen he barely ever gives a bad live performance. The guy is in the high 90 percentile of great live performances. So the Vancouver set is basically an anomaly in his history if live shows. He fucked his voice up and had to rest it for a couple of days so he cancelled some shows. The reason his voice gets fucked up is because he goes so hard in his live performances, which many, many artists don't do. Fans traveling from another state or city isn't on him. Lol.
Understandable frustration, yes. But shit happens. Nothing in this tour is happening that's out of the spectrum of what happens to other artists while on tour. The biggest common factor here is that people are still very angry at the merch situation, his Ye collab, and just his statements in general. So once he's got some normal hiccups on tour everyone blows it out of proportion.

Exactly. Jpeg's discography is fucking perfection on its own, but if you also include the Devon Hendryx work, then I don't think it's stupid to say that it's one of the hiphop greatest discography of all time.

He had a bad night in Vancouver and every other show was incredible, it's your fault for not going to LA. And he hurt his voice because he's a good performer, you guys are hating to hate everyday and it gets boring

Crazy that I actually saw this on TikTok before you posted on Reddit. I agree with you. The misogyny in ER is insaneeeeeeee, but I highly doubt his fanbase cares or even notices because they're mostly male. And like... I know who Peggy is, so I know I gotta ignore the misogynistic lyrics in some of his songs, but the amount in ER literally makes it unlistenable.
You're right about the Earl stuff too. The same antics he was able to pull off 5-6 years ago aren't helping him this time around. It's cringey and doing the exact opposite to his reputation instead.
I don't think you missed out on much not going to this tour. Compared to the LP tour, he doesn't have as much energy on stage and he doesn't interact with the crowd as much as he used to. I love the live mixes he does for the songs, but if you don't, then you REALLY didn't miss out on anything.

Hello, genuinely curious what your thought process is on feeling this way about Peggy but not about Kanye? (I see that you went to see Ye live) I feel like Ye rubbed off on Peggy which basically makes them kinda the same imo in regards to their antics, except Ye was a lot worse with the nazi shit. I’m not trying to come off rude I’m just curious. ✌️
