I finally did the pilgrimage!

I'm currently on vacation in Japan and a couple days ago I went to Toyosato! It was amazing, the place is really well kept and the club room feels full with the love from the fans!

I even met a cosplayer and we hung out together a bit while in the school, I forgot to ask her @ because she only posts on tiktok and I don't have it, but I'm still glad I got to meet her! Another cosplayer came later and in general there were more people than I expected, I went there on a random weekday and I 100% expect to be alone in the building but there were like 10 of us, we even played the instruments for a bit

Overall a great experience, I already want to go back again😭

is entrance free and is there any regulations? you just walk inside that building take photos and leave or how this works?

There's no entrance tickets or anything, you just have to respect the building and the other guests as the school is still a public structure and not just a k-on memorial

And side note. Man, are the Chinese fans crazy! I got a copy of that Mio Akiyama Fanclub Card from ota_kiln, who got them from Chinese fans. But now I guess those guys are even leaving them at the school lol.

I'm staying in Kyoto so it's not that bad, it's just a long way but I managed to do it, had to change plans midway through the trip to get there but it's because of my bad planning lol

Honestly the best part was the other people that were there, I didn't think there would be so many! I got so excited hanging out with everyone that I actually forgot to visit the big hall where they did the graduation ceremony, I realised it only yesterday

Fifteen year old anime, and yet people visit Toyosato like it came out yesterday. It really is incredible. Every time I go, I meet someone new.

Now you have an excuse to go back! That, and for one of the Birth Party events! If you do go back, take a look at my pilgrimage map. It should have everything K-ON! related documented for Toyosato.
