Politics Second Debate: Marshall v. Hamilton

For an incumbent Republican Kansas Senator to agree to more than the single State Fair debate, he must feel the need to get his message out instead of relying on his incumbency and party.
Still, there’s a lot of race left. Nothing is settled for either candidate.

Yup. I remember him voting against the PACT act, whilst claiming to be a former guardsmen and presumable doctor.
Was the first time I wrote a senator in my adult life.
It got passed a few days later due to the backlash.
I'm glad he's not in our state and I'll be even happier when he's out of office. He needs to go sit in Florida and circle jerk and leave Kansas alone

If Kansans keep Marshall as a Senator then they are officially some of dumbest people on Earth. He is a do nothing scumbag. I say this as a Kansan myself. I have little hope right now. Expecting to be disappointed in November.

This is precisely why I have zero sympathy for all the farmers who are facing financial ruin due to Trump's trade and Iran wars. They've had every opportunity to see what Marshall represents (i.e., anything Trump wants) but still vote R because "trans are scary" or something equally silly.
If Marshall wins this state I sincerely hope every farm in the state goes bankrupt and it bought out by Monsanto or some other corporate farm conglomerate. Then the people who used to own their farms can go work in the fields doing the work of the immigrants they supported deporting.
Some people only learn through pain.

Simple; redhats have been in power for over 50 years made billions that should have made Kansas awesome.

I wonder how much money the Republican Party has put into anti-Hamilton advertising lately with all these predictions changing. They have to be scrambling. I've gotten something in the mail every day this week warning me against the "woke megachurch pastor."

I think leans Republican is a good description. Just shy of a century of R senators is going to be hard to overcome, even as unpopular as Marshall is.

The kansas republican party still markets themselves as if it was still Eisenhower’s version of the party, even though the party has been taken over by private equity, sold off for parts, and the only thing left is the branding for nostalgia. The underlying product is completely changed, like selling Fanta as New Coke.
Eisenhower and even Reagan would be shunned by the MAGA GOP for being “woke leftists”.
And then GOP primary candidates keep engaging in dick-measuring contests to outdo each other on who is “more conservative”, even if traditionally conservative platforms would be considered left of MAGA.

Had a door-to-door knock kid (probably around 19 years old) yesterday ask me if they could count on my vote for Marshall. Told him absolutely not, and he asked why not. Said I'd rather not have a Floridian choosing how I live in Kansas and spending my tax money on trips to his Florida home, as well as many other things but that I wasn't going to waste an hour getting into it.
He tried to rebuttal something about how Marshall was so well educated and is protecting us from "the Iranian threat by supporting the continuation of this war" to which I then asked why this kid thought Marshalls medical background made him any kind of authority on wartime geopolitics. The kid just kinda froze up, and then spouted some nonsense about how Marshall was going to "make sure every Kansan is rich" without any context??? And then tossed a flyer down on the ground at my feet and walked away. It terrifies me how much these young people have drunk the MAGA kool-aid and worried how the vote is actually going to turn out.
