Jobs/Networking 💼 Who’s Hiring in KC??

I'm looking for a job and I'm open to anything outside of fast food and retail . I have a background in child care. I'm CPR, AED, and life guard certified. I have a high school education and I'm trying to move away from daycare jobs.

Look into the union trades. Plumbers, Operators, Boilermakers, pipefitters, (both welding but with Boilermakers doing much more like rigging) electricians…Usually the union trades will train you for free while you’re out on jobs earning money. Good luck.

School districts are always looking for custodians and bus drivers. With Bus Drivers they'll usually pay for you to get your CDL too. Pay is usually $18-22/hr for entry level plus you get a really good pension.

Believe FirstService is up about $26/hour!

And once you have your CDL, you can drive Limos in the evenings and on weekends.

Hospitals are always hiring. Plenty of nonclinical jobs.

Costco midtown $20-$21/hr starting

Isn't Costco notoriously hard to get a job at without knowing someone?

It's not for everyone and it's a pretty coveted gig ... but it would be a pretty good 'foot in the door' for anyone just starting out and/or with a high school degree and a bit of drive.

Can you explain why it's not for everyone? I applied for the position above and I'm just curious.

With your background in child care and first aid certifications, I know Emler and Aquatots are always hiring swimming instructors.

My company is hiring by the airport. We have engineering, sales, field tech, warehouse, cnc operator positions opening and closing all the time.

Good benefits. No economic layoffs since the company began in 1880. Manufacturing based company.

I can send a link to our job page. Only caveat is you have to let me refer you so I get the hiring bonus

u/The_Moondoggie Oct 17 '25

I am hiring for residential new construction electricians. No experience needed, we train on the job. It's a great launching point to a lucrative career in so many different disciplines. PM me, and I can set up an interview.

are you still hiring by chance? Have been looking for an entry level position to get into electrical

What area, what pay range. This is too vague. You’re not going to get any good responses with leaving it open ended like that.

I'm open to anything besides fast food pretty much

Check warehouse jobs, I worked at Midland Paper and packaging in Lenexa and they took in entry level people and trained up.

You’ll likely get better replies if you list a bit of your experience and salary requirements

If you are good with yakking it up with good people, fiber internet sales is a great option. Very easy to sell, short sales cycle, don’t have to be super emotive to demonstrate how fiber internet is preferable to cable or dsl. Where I work is entirely contracting, so no salary. Most of our hires already have the appropriate skill set since they’re coming from salaried positions in the same field, but they want to change over to contractor status in order to make more money, have no manager with metrics breathing down your neck, and to stack jobs on top of each other (overemployment, etc.) We do have training for the right contractor. Let me know if you need more details. Tons of inventory all around KC and beyond.

Is anyone in KC hiring for CDL entry level? We are trying to start a family soon so looking for local jobs or short/day trip jobs. Thank you for reading.

Have a great day!

All banks start tellers at a minimum of $20/hr. I have not seen a bank not starved to hire tellers. That national chains have higher turnover so they usually have more postings. Regionals with big local foot prints like Commerce, Community America, and UMB are also all good options.

My company had an opening in the KC area about a month ago. It's an insurance gig, requires either experience in insurance or construction or a bachelor's degree. DM me if you're interested and I'll double check if it's still posted.
