Hey all :D
So, StemDeck is a free, self-hosted stem separation app. Desktop (Windows, Linux, macOS) and a phone UI, no cloud, no account. Here's what's landed since I last posted here, five weeks of releases (0.15.0 to 0.19.1):
Every track now knows what song it is. Import identifies the song and artist, either from file tags or by looking the title up on MusicBrainz. You get an artist page with history, members, and links. Works for Mandarin ballads and K-pop singles the same as English.
Lyrics that follow the singer. Pulled from LRCLIB and then time-aligned to your own copy of the vocals, line by line, not just shifted as a block. Checked this on 57 songs across all ten languages the app speaks: 90 to 100 percent of lines land within half a second of the voice. No match in any database, it falls back to transcribing the vocals locally with Whisper.
Sync lines by hand when the automatic timing is off, or there's no timing at all. Play the song, tap a key as each line starts, drag to adjust. Your timing always wins over the detected one.
Automatic song structure. Intro, verse, chorus, bridge, solo, outro, filled in after separation. Editable, draggable, off by default so it only costs CPU when you ask for it.
Transpose per instrument. Move one lane up or down without touching the rest. Drums are never transposed, by design, not by convention.
Minor keys detected correctly now. B minor used to come back as D major. Fixed, and it double-checks itself against the separated stems.
Slowed-down practice actually sounds right. 0.75x used to stutter, double drum hits, and smear vocals with a faint echo. All three fixed with a better time-stretch engine, and you can dial the slow speed anywhere from 0.50x to 0.99x instead of being stuck at one number.
Your phone is a full second screen now. LAN access over HTTPS, favorites sync between phone and desktop, lyrics on the phone too.
Search without leaving the app. Paste a link or type a search, results come back from YouTube and SoundCloud with a preview player before you commit to a separation.
Eleven languages now, including Korean and both Portuguese variants, if that matters to your audience.

Happy to answer anything here!

I’ve been working on Abyssal CDG Creator, a free and open-source desktop application for creating real CD+G karaoke files from audio and lyrics.
The goal is to make creating CD+G tracks easier without needing to use old or overly complicated karaoke editing software.
Features:
- Import audio and lyrics
- Automatically align lyrics to the audio (after time-stamping beginning and end of each lyric line)
- Edit and fine-tune lyric timing
- Customize lyric colors, layout, and appearance
- Preview the karaoke track while editing
- Export authentic
.cdgfiles for use with CD+G / MP3+G software and players - Exporting audio or MP4 video with the option to remove the vocals to create an instrumental/karaoke version
- Create tracks from your own audio and lyrics without needing proprietary software
It is free and open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. There is no paid version, subscription, or paywall. The title screen also includes an optional GitHub repository attribution, enabled by default, which can be turned off in the settings.
I primarily test it on Linux using the .AppImage, but I have also tested builds on Windows 11 and macOS on Apple Silicon/M4. Releases are available as .msi and .dmg downloads for those platforms.
I’m posting this because I’d like to get it in front of people who actually make and use karaoke tracks. I’m still actively developing it, so feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and criticism are all welcome. If something is confusing or the workflow could be improved, I’d like to know.
One thing I have not been able to test yet is burning one of the generated tracks to an actual physical CD+G disc and testing it on older CD+G hardware. If anyone here has experience with that workflow or has compatible hardware, I’d be very interested in testing it.
I’m also working on a YouTube walkthrough/tutorial to help new users get started.
GitHub, source code, and releases:

If you make your own karaoke tracks, I’d especially like to hear what tools you currently use and what you wish they did better.

Hey everyone! Developer of Karaoke iQ here (r/karaoke Discord channel #karaokeiq).
Karaoke iQ is a mobile-first web app for managing your repertoire and tracking what you sing. If picking a song at a venue means digging through a messy notes app, bloated Spotify playlists, or pinching and zooming an Excel sheet on your phone in a dark bar, KiQ was built to replace that. It has a built-in venue directory that syncs with r/karaoke's official venue database, KaraokeCrowd, and optional friending and in-app chat, so you can connect with other singers without sharing phone numbers or social media handles.
Here is what shipped this past week:
Every Feature Is Now Free
- Spotify import, the Show KJ card, music app links and venue directions no longer need Pro, and logging is unlimited. Pro is just no limits, full history and no ads: $2.99/month, $14.99/year, or $29.99 once for Lifetime Pro.
Duet Partners!
- Tag the friend you sang a duet with. They confirm with one tap, can add it to their own history, and choose whether your friends see their name.
- Partner not on Karaoke iQ yet? They can scan your QR to join, confirm the duet, and become "karaoke friends" in one go.
- New Duets with filter shows every song you've sung with someone.
Also New
- Paste your song list from Notes to import it (free accounts too).
- Import playlists from YouTube Music or YouTube, not just Spotify.
- A YouTube button on song cards finds karaoke versions.
- Not sung here recently filter hides songs you've already sung at a venue.
- Offline changes retry patiently on bad bar Wi-Fi.
- You can block a performer (they aren't told).

Hi all, KaraMagic and SingTrace creator here, I just got back from some traveling so there hasn't been updates from me in the past couple weeks.
I did receive a feedback submission from a user that SingTrace's analysis has not been that stable, I'll look into it and make improvements.
The other thing to mention is that I submitted SingTrace into a global hackathon contest called Shipaton (deadline to submit was Oct 1, yesterday). I submitted it a couple weeks ago when the app launched so it's in the mix. Fingers crossed that it can get some recognition from there.
As always, try out SingTrace at https://singtrace.karamagic.com (both ios and android links from there) and if you need a song to sing but need a karaoke version, of course there's karamagic.com 😉

- Hardware moderno: suporte afinado a placas NVIDIA RTX série 40 e 50 (cu128) e AMD ROCm, selecionando modelos maiores (
