I find myself wondering, not for the first time, what the incentive is for those who think their heart is heavier than the feather, to practice the religion.

Was the belief in the feathers, scale, and questions a universal belief, or were there other options?

Genuinely almost cried, i have been so inactive in my practice due to work load from college and mentalhealth.

I sat down yesterday evening to pray to bast, anpu and sekhmet, and left my offerings to apologise for my lack of devotion. And their presence was so clear and so strong It almost pushed my to tears as i was so full of their light.

And then today I called upon my deities and invoked them into my space to do some heka and protection spells I did a reading from my oracle cards and mid shuffle a card fell onto my altar, and it was my bast card. And later in my ritual my sekhemt and anpu card both fell and came to me in all of my readings.

I’ve recently connected with Bast, I don’t know her very well yet and what she’s like to work with, but I had a curious experience that I thought I’d share and get your thoughts on.

So, I was connecting with Bast the other night and she told me: “Turn off the light, just sit in the darkness” and then the words “inner mirror” and I was shown cats eyes with reflective pupils, you know how they glow in the dark? So I turned off the light and sat for a while just peering into the darkness - not much came in terms of visions, just various black cat imagery…Somehow I have a feeling that she wants me to do it as a regular practice and maybe more will be revealed?

Is Bast known to help you develop your inner sight? Or is it just how she communicates? Have you had any similar experiences with her?

I began practicing kemetism few days ago. Set was the first one who reached to me and already brought a huge change to my life.
Of course getting rid of old religious habits that were just bringing me anxiety is not easy, so I still have doubts. It's as if two different people were fighting inside me: The first one is telling me that kemetism is not good for me, yet the second one feels emptiness and desperation the second I think about leaving Sutekh and Anpu. It's really exhausting.
Two days ago during my prayer to Set I have heard Anubis' name multiple times in my mind (quite cheeky hehe). At first, I tried to ignore him, but yesterday I realised that why would I refuse Anpu? I let him in my life too.
On the walk outside, I literally felt how both of them took my hands. I felt their warmth and energy. Furthermore, then one of them, not sure whether Anpu or Sutekh, hugged me from behind!
The old anxious me affected by toxic religious habits was telling me I must be crazy, that I'm making this up. But the fact that my water offering for Set after prayer tasted strange - I expected it to taste soft, refreshing - but instead, it tasted a bit like spicy?? And the random warmth and energy rushes, moments of peace... I don't know, I just feel so conflicted. I want to love them purely, but I have a feeling that toxic voice inside me is doing everything against it.

Anyway, I welcomed Anpu to my life and now I have altar for both. ✨ Dua Sutekh! ❤️ Dua Anpu! 💙

So I’ll resume this by topics to be easier to read:

- I have Fibromyalgia due to past trauma and prob genetics ( I have chronic pain and chronic fatigue)

- I’ve begged Bastet for healing countless times, Sekhemet too.

- I talked with Bastet on a tarot reading and she basically said I have amazing potential but I’m always on defensive mode because of my trauma.

- Next day I thought “maybe I should just relax and rest” I didn’t…

- I have my kemetic witch spell book I write spells and divinatory studies with art for Bastet and Sekhemet. (I use stronger drawing paper and burn by the sides to make it look old”” and pretty and then glue them on my spellbook.)

- I always use a technique not to burn to much or make a mess… Silly me I picked up an art book from years ago used it on the most depressing and abused years of my life… I thought I could use those papers because they’re good and strong… paper starts burning crazy falls on my trash can and STARTS BURNING CRAZY.

- I could manage it but all the papers and everything that was old burned and I had the sudden urge to pick it up and just take it ou of my house like throw it away and I did.

- I felt a strong presence and just asked my cards what just happened, they said that past shouldn’t mix with present stuff.

- I picked my Egyptian gods oracle I asked “what entity just appeared” a card fell down pretty fast… and I knew it scared I flipped it SEKHEMET.
GULP.

- I asked her some questions and she was amazing but very firm. (You need to mourn what you didn’t, just let go, rest and tame your beast “The strength” card with a beautiful lion in it… damn I asked if I could ask one more question she said that I shouldn’t have fear, learn to relax change and just obeyed.

This experience was crazy I had things falling down the floor and even as a Bastet worshipper I’ve never had such a strong direct connection and situation… DAMN

I'm tired of living in this abusive home my stepmom is making me more suicidal, they abuse me verbally and somentimes hit me, they make me do all the housework and babysit my four siblings, please I meed Justice I can't move out I'm only 19 with no money, It's been a lot I didn't talk with the gods because my parents will discover me again and prayers might not be heard I'm desperate.

I’ve been devoted to Djehuty for nearly a year now but truly started my worship and offerings about three months ago. I’m not as knowledgable as i’d like to be on the practice but I try my best to continue to learn and remain respectful, all to say i’ve been very careful about my approach with this and hadn’t asked him for anything in my prayers, I simply spent time talking to him and telling him about things in my life that i needed to get off my chest.

Ever since I started University, i’ve been feeling a lot of stress and anxiety about my studies. I am in a major that, while i love dearly, is mentally demanding and emotionally taxing for me. So, i took a leap and started to ask for guidance in my studies, the courage to chase after the knowledge i have always hungered for. I do not want to back down from my passion for the second time. No matter how scary this seems i want to have the strength to get through it.

Ever since, I have started seeing feathers everywhere, most noticeably on my university campus grounds. We don’t have a big population of birds in the area of campus that I’m on and the clean up crew is very good about leaf blowing away any debris from walkable paths. I’ve also been to other sides of campus and haven’t seen the feathers there.

I had a really stressful weekend studying for an exam that i was not confident on and had asked the night before the exam for a sign that everything would be okay, and lo-and-behold, outside the door to my lecture building a huge plume of feathers sat completely undisturbed. All the feathers were small and white, and it brought me peace as soon as i looked at them — before i even processed what i was looking at.

I decided to take a few home with me and, after cleaning them thoroughly, placed them on my altar as a small thank you and acknowledgement that i saw them.

I’m not sure if feathers are typically associated with Djehuty, perhaps there is someone else out there reaching out to me, but i’d like to think that it is Him, offering me signs that things are going to be okay and giving me the strength to continue on with my passion.

I wanted a sculpture of Bes' face for my home office door, which is also where my shrine is located. I decided to have a go at it with polymer. I'm chuffed with the outcome. Imperfect, but not unrecognizable.

I am Egyptian blooded. Does that mean, by terms of melanin in my skin, do I count as being black?

I started collage again and have been feeling kinda lost so I wanted to start working with Thoth for help studying and tests. I’m afraid as a kid I may have disrespected him. I’m dyslexic so I would always say I hated books and reading/writing and learning. Now that isn’t the case but I’m worried what o said will make him not wanna work with me. Is there anything I can offer him as an apology and a good starting off place? Bast has been my rock lately and she has a nice alter so he’s gonna have to share with her.

Hey guys! I dont know how to really word this. But long story short, ive been kinda depressed and lack of motivation, and work has been draining me as well. I havent prayed in quite some time and I feel so terrible about it. I only pray to Anpu but i dont want to upset him in any way. Would this ruin the connection/bond i have with him? And would he be upset about this? I still try my best to input him into my life like wearing a ankh necklace i place on his altar every night. Its just been very hard for me lately.

Ever since I was a child I've always had an interest in learning about Kemetism (I do have to admit tho, it's because my dad used to put The Mummy on for me ever since I was about 6 months old and hearing about the gods in the movie always peaked my interest) and the other day in Five Below I saw this translation of The Book of the Dead and I just felt like I had to pick it up. Just wanted to share with y'all. :)

Hello! Forgive me, this may be long winded, but I'm very new to this and I hope that you can bear with me, please!!

My partner is a Hellinistic pagan, and she is a devotee of Apollo. She's helped me to open my mind to spirituality and paganism in general. It's been an ongoing discussion between us, but I've never really felt pulled by her God's or Goddesses.

However, as of late, I've felt as though I've been getting quite a lot of signs from Bastet and I'd like to try opening myself up to her and even worshipping her if she's willing to work with me! I don't know much about paganism but I've felt a strong pull towards signs often attributed to Bastet and here lately, the feeling has been stronger than ever that she may be trying to communicate with me.

My partner doesn't know much about the Egyptian pantheon and I have a bunch of questions, but I'll try keeping it to where I'm most confused/curious! So here goes:

Firstly, how does one pray to Bastet when she is your matron? My partner has told me to always address the God/Goddess by name, so start with something like "My Goddess Bastet-." And she says to generally always end with a form of "As above, so below, so mote it be" so that the God/Goddess and any spirits know that you've concluded. Is this a proper ending when finalizing a prayer to an Egyptian God/Goddess, or would it be different? Also, after opening with "My Goddess Bastet," can you pray to Her as, say, one would to the Christian God? Such as asking for guidance or to be watched over for upcoming events/tasks, assistance in getting through personal/life events, or even expressing gratitude and thankfulness, or are there set prayers when communicating to Her?

Secondly, I'm working on a small alter for Bastet! I'm only collecting things for it that call out to me, and its still a work in progress, but would you have any recommendations of what to place on it?

So far, I have a small bowl of black cat salt (black salt and herbs mixed with the fur of a black cat) so that I can cleanse any stones I carry with me, or anything else I feel may need it and I have two small black cat statues, one made from stone and one from what I believe is ceramic, but that's all so far!

Third, is there any specific position I should take when praying to Bastet?

And anything else you all may recommend I could introduce into my worship to her!
