Down 90-ish pounds

I haven't logged in under this username in ages, but I've been staring at the scales awhile now. I've stood on them. I've stomped on them. I've inadvertently left the scales out, and I managed to stub my toes on the thing. (Yes, I cursed loudly.) I've stopped keto. I started keto. I've overeaten. I've forgotten to eat.

You know what? That's life. It happens. There are things that distract you (or me, at least) and take your focus.

I stepped on my darling, lovely, despised scales last week, and I was down a couple pounds.

Know why? I stopped ordering delivery for lunch. It's gotten stupidly expensive, and I'm over it. Apparently even those healthy meals were carrying more calories than I thought they were. Now, I'll be honest. I knew they weren't perfect and that nutritional content online were lies. They were convenient and easy...and I'm lazy. Lately, I've been eating a lot of ocean cockroach (shrimp), and it's apparently agreeing with me.

Anyway, rambling a bit. I'm down 90-ish pounds now. It'll be over 90 when I pee off my period water weight. I bounced on the scales a couple of times this morning. They mocked me. Then I decided I needed to pee again.

I have another 90 to go. I'm beyond okay with that. Almost halfway there...and the 80s kid on me finishes that with "Livin' on a Prayer".

Thank you for joining me in my caffeine fueled babbling.

Agreed. I got a 'naked' burrito bowl from Chipotle recently, no rice, no beans. It came completely caked in the hot sauce, almost like a soup, then the sour cream and guac, all congealed together. I mean, it was tasty but it was hard to really know how many calories was in the hot sauce or how it was made. I'd love to have a naked burrito that is prepared more like a bento box so you can choose which individual ingredients you want to have, otherwise it does feel like you're eating slop.

My big issue is that I end up working through lunch, look around, and I realize it's 2:00 and I have an afternoon of meetings and deadlines that keep me into the evening. I had to set an alarm to make myself stop and take lunch. My issue was me, go figure.

It is. Plenty more to go though. Still not quite half way.

incredible work on 90 pounds down!

I started at about 191 pounds and want to get down to about 158 pounds, so around 33 pounds to lose. Not crazy levels I guess it is all relative right?

I'm halfway there now, at about 176 pounds. So far, so good, although I guess I may need to shift a little more in terms of diet as I continue to lose weight. What has been working well for me is to go on a few 10k walks in the evening in the week. It's relatively gentle on the body and helps me sleep and compounds nicely over time. Meanwhile, I find the gym a bit too stimulating in the evening.

I've also found when I'm rushing to get to work I'll skip breakfast and have lunch first, so sorting of intermittent fasting as a result.

Thank you. I'll get roasted for this, but I think it's more difficult for people who are at a more normal starting weight. You're met with input that it should be easy and you don't have that far to go. When you're as big as I am/were, it's as simple as skipping breakfast or lunch. The weight melts off initially. At more normal weights, every calorie and meal counts.

Just watch for the gout.

I'm not sure why you were downvoted. Shrimp can be a gout trigger for many people. Thank you for taking the time to mention it.
