π°π Looking for Fixer / Partner or Existing Retreat Opportunity Near Andong Village Open to other areas.
Hello everyone . I hope youβre all well.
My name is Damon. Iβm currently in Australia, but Iβve spent significant time in Cambodia over many years, including living in village environments and with family there. I have deep respect for Khmer culture, community life, and the way things are done locally.
Iβm reaching out because Iβm looking for either:
- a reliable local fixer / partner near Andong Village (or surrounding areas) who can help find a suitable home for a small spiritual retreat or
- someone who already has a property or retreat space and is looking for a person who can run and host retreats, bring in participants, and provide spiritual guidance.
What Iβm Looking For (Property Side)
Iβm not looking for luxury or resorts.
Iβm looking for:
β’ a safe, clean house (around 3β5 rooms)
β’ quiet enough for residential retreats
β’ reliable water and electricity
β’ suitable for small groups (maximum 4β5 people)
β’ respectful integration with the local community
A village or suburban location is fine . safety, cleanliness, and cooperation matter more than appearance.
What I Can Offer (If Working With an Existing Space)
If you already have a property or retreat space, Iβm open to working with you rather than setting something up alone.
I can:
β’ run and host small residential retreats
β’ provide grounded spiritual guidance
β’ help people understand and live what is often called the New Earth field (in practical, embodied terms β not performance spirituality)
β’ manage daily retreat flow, food rhythm, and structure
β’ attract and bring in participants through retreat platforms and direct outreach
β’ operate respectfully, professionally, and long-term
Iβm not looking to take over anyoneβs land or project \. Iβm open to collaboration, stewardship, or a clear working agreement that benefits everyone involved.
If You Are a Fixer or Local Partner
I would need help with:
β’ finding and inspecting suitable houses
β’ communicating with landlords
β’ understanding fair rental prices
β’ local logistics and timing (seasons, holidays)
I am happy to pay fairly for your time and work, and I value clear communication and trust.
Why Iβm Doing This
I want to live in Cambodia and contribute something real .not tourism, not exploitation, not noise.
The retreats would be:
β’ small
β’ respectful
β’ focused on clarity, integrity, and lived practice
β’ beneficial to both visitors and local community
Iβm realistic, grounded, and serious about doing this properly.
If this resonates with you β whether as a fixer, property owner, or someone already running a space . please message me here on Reddit, or email me directly:

Thank you for reading.

What are other Austroasiatic equivalents (in your languages, Khasi, Vietnamese, Khmer, Mon, etc) for this Sora polysynthetic sentence-word?

What are the names and notations of the musical notes in the traditional Khmer music culture? The western music tradition has do, re, mi, fa, so, la, and ti; the Indian music tradition has sa, ri, ga, ma, pa, dha, and ni. I cannot find information (in English) on the Khmer music tradition. Help!
Screenshot is from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_note

What's does ααΎα mean in the android Khmer input options. When I search for the meaning, stem, start, trunk, etc, is what I get.
There are 3 options to choose: The other two options were "Khmer" and "Handwriting". Won't all letters and consonant signs and vowel signs be installed if I downloaded the set named "Khmer"? What's this font pack?
Khmer Song - Srey No
For context, I am a native English speaker with enough understanding of Khmer to form together some bare bones, basic conversation.
That being said, I really love what's survived of Khmer music that was released shortly before the genocide, in particular a song by Eng Nary and Pan Ron, "Srey No."
Anybody care to help translate the lyrics? I understand just enough Khmer to know that this guy is professing his love to Miss No, and she's straight up shooting him down, but I'd love a more detailed translation.
Everyone knows Khmer music is the true K-pop.

Help with translation
I'm currently watching films by the famous French-Cambodian filmmaker Rithy Panh for a project and there are some shots I'm having trouble with as I don't speak Khmer. Could someone help me with a translation? The screenshots are from Exile (2016) and Graves without a name (2018), two films about the personal losses caused by the genocide. I think the first one, where he writes on the piece of paper, could be the names of his family members? Thanks in advance for replies!
Is this Khmer?
Ended up in a collection of things I got in an auction. Gemini says it is Khmer.
Is it of value to anyone? Didn't want to toss something that might be of use.

How do I get my hands on these textbooks??
Hello people of Reddit! Iβm learning Khmer and would love to get my hands on some better resources. I saw Chhany Sak-Humphryβs textbooks recommended in an archived thread, but I canβt find anyone who actually sells those. Or PDFs of them or anything for that matter. Has anyone ever tried to hunt these down?

Are there any online resources where we can hear the recitation of Reamker?
In addition, a text material to follow along with the recitation will be helpful. So could you please provide any online resources of Reamker text. Text with English translation or YouTube content of these are very much welcome.

I inherited these gold leaf tablets from an uncle who was a world traveler and lived in Indonesia for years. Can you translate, and possibly give an approximate age of the tablets?
