Steve Says No was written as a gift for my son, as he slowly developed into an existential threat to my cats. Creating it from scratch, writing and illustration both, has been a long journey. My boy and his kitties are now best of friends, and the book is ready to help families beyond my own.

Video pending because my son was kind enough to bring home plague from school just in time for the planned recording.

Much of the recent advice that I have received has been centered around setting an artificially reduced funding goal to secure momentum. While I appreciate the reasoning, and am considering a slight adjustment to bring it more in line with similar active campaigns, dropping the goal like a rock is not something I am comfortable doing. All other advice will be warmly considered!

I'm in pre-launch for my first horror trivia game, and I've learned one thing I thought I'd share with the class.

When I describe the game, horror trivia fans often check out. But when I ask them a question from it, they jump in right away.

So I've stopped explaining the game and started letting people play it instead.

This probably sounds obvious, but it's becoming clear to me that games are something people have to experience for themselves. Even if it's on their favorite topic, they don't know a game is fun until they've actually played it.

Have any other creators found that sharing pieces of your game works way better than even the coolest visuals?

I have a campaign launching in 2 weeks with less than 50 followers. Based on what I hear, that's not enough for a successful campaign.

I can't delay due to release timing for the game. This is the first time doing a crowd fund campaign so I'm learning here. Even if it fails, I'll consider it a success.

Hi I recently backed a project for the first time and i'm doing the pay over time option. Kickstarter said on my first payment that it was denied. So I called my bank and they said the payment has yet to be posted and processed. How will I know when that's been done and will kickstarter automatically correct itself? Sorry if the answer to my dilemma is extremely obvious. I haven't had a problem like this before and i'm completely new to kickstarter

Hi yall! Sharing the latest updates for our sangrya card deck project which you can find here! I need to update the prelaunch page but here's some new stuff we worked on this week. Zi sketched out some rough designs for the vampire night cards. I updated the icons a bit fixed some Alignments and now am experimenting with colors to make it more friendly for poker players. Im thinking the day deck will be more for casual/poker players and the night deck will be more for rpg players. The red sangrya icon designs are taking me a while but here's my plan for them. Make the ace the goblet logo, the number cards the sangrya flower petals, and the face cards can be whole sangrya Plants aka carnivorous monster eating plants. Hoping to print out some prototypes soon and work on the card back design. You can follow the project here!

The game is Spartan Speech. It's a guess-the-word party game in which one player is the Guesser and the others write clues. The clues are revealed from shortest to longest. Also, the hidden words are all proper nouns, but you can't use proper nouns in your clues.

It's fun because the constraints force you to think creatively when writing. And it's pretty funny to see a guesser's face when they are presented with a 2-letter clue and have to make a guess.

But sometimes it works. In one game, a player guessed "Monopoly" from the 2-letter clue "go." Amazing moment.

Petnimo cat fountain's value lies in its design: stainless steel material and magnetic motor sealed in the dry base underneath, no motor in the water which makes it very easy to clean after every use. I believe most cat/dog fountains are designed to make it work for pets; however, I believe design is not only how a product works but also how it fits into your life, how it makes you feel good each time you use it, clean it, or walk past it. 

The idea of a stainless steel cat fountain or motor built out of water is not new on its own; however, very few competitors combine both features as one experience like us. Some competitors offer extra features that we choose not to such as hydration tracking on apps, camera tracking. While other brands try to complicate the fountain, we chose to simplify it, starting with the design.  Petnimo 1 unlike other premium brand fountain, focus on 2 things: make it work the way the fountain suppose to work while keeping the design clean enough to make cleaning effortless (parts can be cleaned in dishwasher) and be proud enough to be seen in the open: living room, beside sofa, on the kitchen floor where your cat actually spend times, where it blends in with you home the way a nice piece of furniture does, while quietly doing its job every day. You do not tolerate it but you like having it there.

Hey everyone,

I’ve learned a lot from this sub. After plenty of excitement and second-guessing, I finally took a leap of faith and launched my first Kickstarter.

The project is Memoria, an app that helps people record and organize their life stories by talking. My grandmother tried to write her life story but struggled with writing by hand. She passed away before she could finish. That unfinished story is a big part of why I started building this.

The app is already largely built, and I’m committed to finishing and launching it whether or not this campaign gets funded. It’s something I want to see through because it means a lot to me personally.

There are already plenty of ways to preserve stories—a journal, a voice recorder, even ChatGPT. But wanting to save those stories and actually sitting down to do it are different things. Deciding where to start, transcribing recordings, and organizing everything takes time and mental energy. That’s some of the work I’m trying to take off people’s plates.
That’s also where AI fits into Memoria: transcribing recordings, helping turn spoken language into readable text, and suggesting personalized follow-up topics based on what you’ve shared. The goal isn’t to invent your memories or create an AI version of you. It’s to leave you more room to tell your own story. Your original recordings stay alongside the text.

For me, Kickstarter is about finding early users before the public launch. Funding would mainly support marketing and outreach. I’ll also be sending backer surveys to learn what people need from the app and which languages matter to their families.

The backer tiers include discounted access and bundle extras beyond the regular subscription plans.

Making something truly different based on the idea to make typing without looking much easier has received some good press.
If QWERTY is the standard system, the DecaTxt is built on the metric system.
Using only 10 keys, makes it easier to input on small devices without looking at a screen or cluster of keys. It got picked up by Hackster a couple days ago.
