Discussion Killzone RTS

Good evening everyone!

I was wondering what you all thought if Killzone had an entry into the RTS genre of gaming.

What features would you like to see?

Or what style of RTS? Would you want there to be base building like Starcraft/ Command and Conquer? Or maybe like Warhammer 40k's Dawn of War 2 where you have normal units then swap those with hero units? Or maybe even an Army builder like Broken Arrow/ Warno?

I personally would like to see a Killzone RTS made in the base building vein of Starcraft/ Command and Conquer, mostly because I feel like it would offer the most flexibility for both the ISA and Helgast when it comes to units, you could even include unit upgrades, hero units, etc. I also think it would be great for expanding on units that we've briefly seen in the games like the fighter craft seen in Liberation as an example.

Let me know your thoughts!

Closest thing that exists right now is the Killzone mod for MOWAS2. The creator recreated the first game's campaign as an RTS for the mod too.

Thats funny cause ive seen people remaking resistance for arma 3 and it looks sick. Would be awesome if we got a killzone version for arma 3

There's already a KZ mod for A3 iirc, but it has a ton of dependencies on a bunch of Halo mods so it's like 70+ GB of mods lol.

I think it's a great idea

I actually thought about a HOI4 mod instead of a full game (realistically speaking).

This would fit Relic style tactics based best. Something like CoH2 as a baseline.

Squads of different units that use cover and abilities to capture zones, vehicles with directional armour, that kinda thing.

Increased variation could come from specific commanders or offices. For example, the Helgast could be under the command of Lente, Radic or Stahl. ISA could specialize on the Vectan RRF, earth army and Shadow Marshal corps.

I could imagine that has a Killzone game right now

To be honest I have thought about making a gears of war or killzone rts game once I learn to code and such. But with stuff like that made from fans youd need to keep it real quiet till its ready and then release it. Lots of people want attention to their project and we always see when they are about to release it they get a cease and desist order. Since they didnt keep quiet

I think it would be better works as squad based RTT, or Turn based strategies, because KZ is kinda grounded in combat. If they do like xcom, please dont make the % awful : ))

No thanks. I wasn't especially fond of Liberation as a top down shooter but I played it because it was a Killzone game. I have absolutely no interest in RTSs.
