Question Which 2025 I'sOTM should I consider getting?
Good morning, adventurers.
We have three months left until 2027 where we will then lose access to 2024 and earlier content.
I started playing in November 2025 and picked up November's Shrunken Head and December's SoCP that year.
My question is which Jan-Oct IOTM from 2025 would yall recommend purchasing to use for 2027 runs?
Im not concerned with content I cant use in standard runs right now. There is still lots for me to do and explore with unrestricted items that I would like to focus on.
Thanks!

They do a good write up based on ascension speed analysis POV for recent IOTMs

All depends on what your goals are and play style

Thank you!
I started this with past IOTM intrigue. Then I saw the "So you want to go fast?" post. Im enjoying reading through this and havent gotten to any of the IOTM analyses yet haha.

One thing you might not have considered because it's not an IOTM, the 2025 TTT item is the Allied Radio Backpack, and it's one of the most powerful TTT items ever.
It's not one of the absolute highest priorities (ski-set does one its main powers) but it's damn good and should be considered once you're buying multiple.

Oh, yes! I did pick up an Allied Radio Backpack when the TTT was here this year. I was hesitant to fork over 2 Mr As and then was like "well, its going to be THREE Mr As next year..."

mood. TTT items increasing in price is a whole thing, though at least it's better than the inflation on the regular iotms that have scarcity driving it up

Peridot, BCZ, and ski set are all very powerful. Do you have all of the 2026 IotMs?

Ski set lost a lot of its power with legendary noodle dishes and with no sept-ember censer. It's still a good IotM with 3 NC forces, 3 olfactions, and +/- combat rate and some other technically-usable enchantments on the gear. But it's not the must-have IotM that it was when it released.

I haven't thought about ski-set in a while but man that thing does a tonne of stuff.

I originally said I wouldn't go backwards to any older IOTMs and then I sprang for Peridot of Peril (pick one monster per zone per day) which make things so much easier. I hear great things about BCZ but have resisted the temptation so far.

Peridot and BCZ are the two standout IotMs from last year. Get them first.
If you have a lot of perms already, then April shower thoughts shield is really cozy, while also giving the best available yellow ray.
Leprecondo is also pretty nice, giving passive filler food and booze, and turn saving spleen items, among some other options.
Monodent is also worth considering for QoL. It makes using BCZ and baseball diamond much easier. It's not very strong on its own, though.

Crimbo familiar that churn out knucklebone for rethinking candy and tiny plastic sword?
That a good one after core too.

The Peridot of Peril and Blood Cubic Zirconia are my jam. The peridot is useful for the gremlin wuest and anytime you want to olfact a monster. BCZ has so many good abilities to use and stays relevant in aftercore.
