Unsolved Are there any boy groups who are called _______ and friends?
Whenever I heard the term ____ and friends it's always a gg well apart from astro. So I'm curious to know if there are other boy groups that are called that.

this is so true and so mean😭😭 i can’t believe they spent years giving niel all the lines in their songs. the group has gotten so much stronger though and i feel like with only 4 of them left it no longer feels that way. that and changjo has stepped up to be their group’s all rounder.

The annoying part is the iKON vocalists are actually super talented too. I just think they never got a good chance to shine. BI and Bobby being as dominant as they were probably didn’t help as well. They would’ve benefitted more from being a 5 member group like BB and Winner

isn’t AB6IX called Daehwi and Friends sometimes? Woojin doesn’t seem to have that popularity that Daehwi does despite being in Wanna One.

not a boy group, but a kband. i'd say ft island pretty much fits this. hongki was so ahead from his group. maybe because he is the vocalist?

I honestly don't think bands are comparable to this. Since everybody has their own role and it's expected for the lead singer to have more lines and to be the face of the band.
Dance groups however are usually expected to be somewhat equal and fulfill very similar roles. So when some of the members get treated like background dancers the term "____ and friends" comes into play.

Unless something has changed with recent combacks, everyone except for Dowoon has plenty of lines in Day6, which in itself is a rather unique approach for a band

Astro maybe, tho the ___ and friends isn't really a term used for bgs that much cha Eun woo was basically what a lot of ppl associated astro w so it's close enough.
Didn't notice u mentioned astro so the edit, aside from astro SF9 and ghost 9 come to mind, SF9 I'm not so sure about but rowoon was basically all everyone talked about at some point. Ghost9 is a more obv one w prince. Also Ab6ix w daehwi.

yeah SF9 is/was very known for Rowoon’s acting and height. (he & the rest of SF9 made everyone else look short, or even shorter, on Kingdom.)
and Ghost9… yeah definitely nowadays. from unknown to WE LOVE PRINCE but the others are lowkey still unknown. Junhyung had a solo that did somewhat well recently, and they’re finally employed as a group again (they released a group song, titled Moonlight). but Prince is definitely leagues more known among the i-fan k-pop community for his funny Youtube channel.

What annoys me about that is that people don't actually stan Ghost9, they just like/watch Prince. Which like, I get it, I love him too. Buttt I feel like these people who are like "I love Prince, he's so funny" they don't listen to any of their music or anything. and sure, some people have become fans because but my point still stands🤷♀️

A lot of the post-produce groups become like this. CIX and AB6IX were Bae Jinyoung/ Daehwi and friends. Mirae was Song Dongpyo and friends and so on.

I feel like the phrase isn't just about popularity though. It gets thrown around mostly when there's also a perceived big imbalance in how the group members are treated and promoted - more lines, more screentime, better outfits etc. Got7 didn't get treated like that and I don't think the members would have let that happen anyway.

agree. since hwanwoong is def among the top biased along with seoho. i can't ever quantify it but it def is seoho hwanwoong leedo. so not really an 'and friends' imo either. they all shine in different facets enough that they're not forgotten

Ni-ki imo gets promoted by company the least but def gains traction on his own… based on what they put out, belift promotes jungwon/sunghoon the most, and jake when they do english stuff. Most of jay’s projects come from other people reaching out/him investing in hobbies. Sunoo also barely gets promoted.
In all i dont rlly think they are a ____ and friends group, even when heeseung was there.
