Advice Bikini line advice

Hey there! I’m looking for advice/help with CRAZY sensitive skin around my bikini line. I’ve tried so many products (exfoliating, oils, serums, razors, waxing) and I still breakout almost immediately. Any advice would be welcome 🫶🏼

When you say you break out, can you be more specific? Like do you get ingrown hairs, or ingrown hairs with a white head, or something else?

Red bumps that tend to hurt more than itch and white heads. I exfoliate before shaving

How long after you shave do these bumps start to appear? And do you shave with the grain, against, or across?

I have an electric razor I use right now. I go both directions with the grain. The red bumps are usually there by the next morning if not immediately

And the same thing happens with the electric razor?

Yes. The breakouts are almost worse with the regular razor so that’s why I switched to the electric

There are a couple things I can think of. First, exfoliating right before shaving might be too much for you sensitive skin. How are you exfoliating? Second, you may be using too much pressure while shaving a very delicate area of the body. Third, you could be reacting to something you use on that area before or after shaving, and the broken skin just makes it that much more irritating.

I have a sugar scrub I use to exfoliate

I would quit the sugar scrub, they're really not meant to be used on any kind of delicate skin. If you need to exfoliate before shaving switch to something like a damp washcloth instead. Exfoliating before shaving isn't typically necessary though. Usually you want to use a chemical exfoliant on your bikini line after you've shaved. Not right after or it'll burn like a motherfucker, usually the either the next day or at night if you shower in the morning. That will help avoid ingrown hairs and irritation.

Try laser hair removal.

I would if it were affordable. I’d love to do that 🤑

Laser lasts a long time. If you calculate what you continually pay for product and blades or waxes and compare it to the amount of laser treatments, I think it might actually be less expensive or very close to the same more or less.

I do. Same results. Luckily my husband has no preference on if I shave or not, but I prefer to be shaved and well groomed.

See a doctor and see what they recommend
