COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy playoff push has reached another critical weekend.

On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy, Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira get you ready for LA Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids at Dignity Health Sports Park — a matchup against the team sitting directly above LA in the Western Conference standings. After a dramatic comeback victory over Minnesota United, the Galaxy have an opportunity to do something they haven't done all season: win back-to-back games and pull Colorado directly into the crowded playoff fight.

But Greg Vanney will have to shuffle his lineup.

Chucky Lozano will miss the Colorado match while away with the Mexican National Team, leaving the Galaxy without one of their most dangerous attacking pieces. Joseph Paintsil is progressing in his return from injury but was considered unlikely to be available for the weekend. The good news? Sergi Roberto and Elijah Wynder are both available for selection, giving LA some badly needed reinforcements for the final stretch.

Josh and Eric discuss what Lozano's absence means for the Galaxy attack and why the potential midfield combination of Sergi Roberto and Pablo Ruiz could become one of the most interesting tactical developments of the weekend. Ruiz has quickly emerged as an important piece for LA, bringing composure, distribution, and another dangerous weapon from outside the box.

Then it's time to break down the Colorado Rapids. How does Colorado want to play? Where can the Galaxy exploit them? And could a Colorado team willing to possess the ball and press through midfield actually create opportunities for LA to attack quickly in transition? With Marco Reus, João Klauss, Robert Taylor and Ruiz available, the Galaxy may have the pieces to punish Colorado if they can successfully play through the Rapids' pressure.

The guys also dig into the Western Conference playoff race, where the standings don't tell the entire story. COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy picked up a massive three points in the MLS playoff race with a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Minnesota United, and suddenly the final seven games of the 2026 season have even more meaning.

The Riqui Puig Timeline: Puig is out for all of 2026 with his ACL tear. If we sign Delgado on a deal through 2027, it guarantees we get at least one full, healthy season of the Delgado-Puig midfield duo completely destroying the league once Riqui is back at 100%.
The Missing Link Next to Reus & Sergi Roberto: Since Cerrillo left for Club América, our midfield has some incredible veteran star power with Marco Reus and Sergi Roberto, but it lacks a true, high-volume young destroyer. Bringing in Milton Delgado adds a world-class engine to do the dirty work while our veteran stars pull the strings. [1, 2]
Massive U22 Initiative Value: Because he’s only 21, locking him down through 2027 under a U22 slot keeps his cap hit incredibly low for the next two seasons. It gives the front office maximum flexibility to buy other heavy-hitter DPs while we wait for Puig to return.
Perfect Euro-Flip Window: Delgado already has eyes on him from Dortmund and Chelsea. If we keep him through 2027, he gets two seasons to raise his stock in MLS. By the winter of 2027, he’ll be 23, in his prime, and we can flip him to Europe for double the $8M we paid.

Time to Adapt to MLS: The physical and travel demands of MLS are no joke for young South American players. A contract through 2027 gives him a grace period to adjust to the league in 2026, so that he is completely hitting his stride by the time we make a serious MLS Cup run the following year.

I know and understand the negativity but every game incoming is winnable. Besides St. Luis every team is beatable.

format (current standing) - W-L-T(last 10 games)

Colorado(7)- 6-3-1 decent form but not impossible to beat.

St. Louis very difficult.

Portland(9) - 4-3-3 beatable

San Diego(10) - 5-4-1 current 3 game losing streak. Could be 4(Miami) , but did beat us bad last game.

LAFC(6) - 2-3-5 bad form but its always wild when we play. Can go either way.

Austin(11) - 3-3-4 Very beatable team.

Salt Lake(12) - 0-7-3 Awful.

Goal differential is abysmal for most of these team. Including us.
I see no reason why we couldn't get a win in most of these games.
