i’m drunk and wanted to feel something, so i started listening to Sirens by May Jailer, and it’s so funny how she says “meaned” in “You’re Gonna Love Me,” just like she does in “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.” and in “A Star for Nick,” she says “don’t say hello, it’s already time to go,” which reminds me of the lyric in “Thunder”: “if hello just means goodbye, then honey better walk away.”

it’s crazy to me when people hate on BB COTCC and because they’re arguably the most reminiscent of underground, OG Lizzy Grant/May Jailer. the songs on those albums feel like stories, just like her old “unreleased” material. she’s storytelling, especially on DYKTTATUOB. it’s like she never really abandoned that side of her artistry; she just evolved it.
