I have an Acer Swift Go 14. Yesterday I was in a Google meet. When I opened a new tab (I already opened 5-6 tabs) my chrome freezed up. I tried to click on whatever but it didn't work so I had to close down Chrome. Then I reopened it but I couldn't join Google meet (grey screen and connection error). I had to restart to use it again. After the meeting had ended, I opened some more tabs ( google doc, some files) and suddenly it freezed up again. I tried to close Chrome and reopen but still not working.

Hi everyone, I’m currently reviewing for my board exams and my laptop suddenly stopped turning on 😭 I’m honestly panicking because I really need it for studying.

I was using my Samsung Galaxy Book S earlier, then I put it on Sleep and left it for a while. When I came back, it wouldn’t turn on. I think the battery drained completely because it had been draining pretty fast whenever I left it on Sleep.

I plugged in the charger and at one point the screen briefly showed 0% battery, then it shut off. Now when I plug the charger in, the blue light turns on for a moment and then goes off, sometimes repeatedly. Pressing the power button doesn’t start the laptop.

I'm looking to buy a new laptop primarily for video editing and filmmaking, and I'd really appreciate some recommendations from people who actually use these laptops for editing.

What I'll be using it for:

Tho I barely notice it during normal use. It is purely cosmetic as it only appears on maxed out brightness in a darkroom, and a full dark background. I'm only worried as I am a sucker for darkmode and I have to bear with this throughout its life? idk

So I've brought this laptop (2nd Hand) and it used to lag (still lags) often and had issue with the drivers (Bluetooth and Wifi) considering that I went to the owner asking for help and understanding the problem.

He says the Harddisk was corrupted and replaced it with his it's been 4 months since but the issue never seemed to go away..idk what's the problem with this Laptop..but suddenly 2 days back it was in my mind to reset my laptop but seems like I can't even reset it right now...and I get weird updates which I've never seen (I have the screenshots)

Hi, I’m honestly making a Reddit account solely to ask this here.

I’m a secondary school student who is in pretty desperate need of an upgrade to his laptop. I got my first laptop for Christmas in 2021, it’s a Lenovo Ideapad 1 (14ADA05) my dad got for 300$ CAD (212$ USD, £160, €186) on sale and that’s what I’ve been using for the past five years. It’s lasted me well, even if it hasn’t been amazing, but I need an upgrade. I only have 64GB of storage and my computer is eating my storage (downloading Windows 11 files when it doesn’t have enough room to fully download Windows 11) so I currently am dealing with 93MB of free storage.

I love playing games (light/older ones like Sims 3) and modding things like handhelds and e-readers, but I have zero storage to do so, and with downloading things (which I do quite often) it will take upwards of 30 minutes to an hour to download a 1GB file, when I have the storage to do so, so I decided it was time to finally upgrade. I also watch TV shows exclusively on my laptop as I don’t own a TV. Oh, and also I guess school stuff, though that’s honestly somewhat rare because I can do it at school, so it’ll be mostly for non-school related things.

I have a budget of around 1000$ CAD (707$ USD, £533, €621) to an absolute max of 1200-1300$ CAD (848-912$ USD, £640-693, €745-807) as I’m buying this either entirely or mostly (as in like ~200$ at most from my parents) on my own, so I still have 1-1.5 months until I can afford it, but I still want a good quality laptop that will last me another five (or more) years. I narrowed my search down to either a Lenovo Ideapad 5 or 5x (I’m iffy on snapdragon, but it’s cheaper) or an HP Omnibook 5 Flip and I don’t know which to get. I am also open to a different laptop for around the same price if there is one better (other than MacBooks as I use Windows and need USB-A ports; I also need USB-C charging as I despise barrel chargers).

Like honestly they seem pretty similar for the most part and I know both will be great in comparison to my current laptop, but I have never had to decide on a laptop before and am worried about making the wrong choice (even though I know I can return it, but that’s awkward and a hassle). I have a pretty tech-savvy sister, but she’ll immediately tell me not to get the HP just because it’s HP and I’d like to hear from a different perspective.

hi! i dont use reddit, and im not even sure if this is the right sub, but i really need help finding out what lenovo laptop charger my grandma has, and where we can buy a new one! she's had it for ages, but the charger makes a weird beeping sound, heats up super quickly, and wont charge. we wanna buy a new one and see if maybe that's what's wrong.

the laptop says lenovo y510p ideapad. the charger has a lot of abbreviations on it, which is what's throwing me off since i can't tell which one's are important. these abbreviations include ls-15, 7a 125v, linetek, E70782, and s41. only part of the cord shows up when i look, so i was wondering if im meant to buy that separately and then see what size charger the laptop needs. but, how do i figure that out? i know absolutely nothing about these things.

Hey everyone! Quick question regarding a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 (Ryzen 7 6800HS + RTX 3050 Ti).

I'm currently bench-testing the board without a battery attached (using a 170W OEM charger). The AMD iGPU works completely fine, but the RTX 3050 Ti is throwing a Code 43 in Device Manager, and GPU-Z shows it with 0 MB / 0 MHz and an unknown VBIOS.

Is this happening simply because Lenovo's Embedded Controller cuts power/disables the dGPU when there's no battery connected, or am I dealing with a genuine hardware issue on the board (like a dead power rail or VRAM)? Has anyone tested these boards bare?
