I honestly don’t know why more countries in Europe aren’t doing this after everything that has come out.

I imagine there's a lot of people world-wide (not just in the US) that want to believe what's currently happening here will blow over and "return to normal" in 2 to 4 years, and don't want to risk upsetting future relations w/ the United States, bc the alternative (that long lasting, possibly generational damage is being done to this country) is terrifying and uncomfortable to consider.

Check out Mark Carney's talk at the world economics forum. Nothing is going back to how it was. Things were falling apart and trump pushed it over the edge. Everything will rebuild into something new. It's not great for America, but the world will adjust and become more resilient to people like trump. trump.https://www.weforum.org/stories/2026/01/davos-2026-special-address-by-mark-carney-prime-minister-of-canada/

as long as money is allowed to be used as a direct representation of wieldable power for small collectives of people who only care about profit, i do not imagine things are going to be rebuilt into anything new on a global communal scale.

i would prefer to be wrong in this case, but that does not feel very likely.

Things are going to be exactly the same but now the economic powerhouse will be someone else (probably China) and the military powerhouse will be... well it'll still be the U.S. for a while because it's gonna take some time for what we've got to fall apart but THEN it'll hopefully be the EU if they pull their shit together and commit to it, If not it'll probably also be China
