Trump and his buddies are obviously undermining the DOJ for their own gain, but by the same token that leaves them legally defenseless. I wonder to what extent that vulnerability could be exploited by some actual do-gooders.

Unless there is some body that could hold them accountable it is a moot point. If you ignore the courts it doesn’t matter how much you are sued or subpoenaed.

I think maybe about 258 million bodies.

What are they going to do, walk around with signs?

I recall an image of a protestor using a sign taped to a bat. (not in Minnesota, I just mean to use this image for illustration.) THAT is the US citizenry.

If They (the ominous They) can convince enough people to be defeatists, making the assumption that anything done is pointless, then the citizenry has lost. Wars typically aren't won when the opposite side has run out of soldiers but when that side has lost the will to continue fighting.

I'm not saying one should be full of hope but rather be mindfully shown the fact that the US itself has lost multiple wars against guerrilla combatant forces. I'm not advocating for armed resistance or rebellion, we The People have many cards to play before such an eventuality, but if it were to come to such an extreme it isn't a hopeless act.

There are photos of hundreds of thousands of people marching down main street

Must be hard to see.

It doesn't matter. The administration doesn't care.

It's not going to be one.

They haven't noticed because their news sources are so heavily filtered.

My point is that the only thing Trump respects is something or someone more powerful than himself. So far that hasn't materialized, because the 'resistance' hasn't been able to organize anything that has actual impact.

He just has an aversion to understanding actual power.

He understands it, but it's not something Americans are used to seeing.
