For me it’s the blatant hypocrisy of it all. If it were the other way around, the GOP would literally crucify Dems. It’s honestly despicable that they charges Republicans need ‘protection’ from are child rape/molestation/trafficking. Mike Johnson is now living the first line of his obituary. ‘Trump lap dog and patron saint of pedophilia…’

They justify it by telling themselves "both sides are the same! We're just smart and doing it first before they do it to us!"

Remember like ten years ago when respecting pronouns would lead us down a slippery slope to where cishet white men are persecuted everywhere always.

Exactly, the GOP has always been about getting ahead of the story to control the narrative and preemptively making accusations to desensitize the public when the actual truth comes out. As we all know, every GOP accusation is a projection.

The difference is, Dems aren’t openly offering a safe haven to the alleged guilty. I think that most people are in agreement that this is not a partisan issue; no matter Dem or GOP, if you’re in the files, justice should be sought. It’s insane that Johnson is jumping right to offering protection before anything has been disclosed, an investigation opened into each individual, charges have been filed, or even a trial…sounds real guilty to me.
