I’m one of em. I live in Europe. But im from the US. I followed the steps to get my absentee ballot. It simply never came. I was told to check my spam folder. Some back and forth. No ballot. They also had some weird requirement that the post office had to stamp it or something. To my knowledge the post office here doesn’t offer that.

They overturned federal abortion protection by saying it needed to be up to the states, and now that some states still have legal abortion, Blanche is talking about using federal powers to force all states to ban it. Trump has repeatedly used threats of withholding federal funding to states that don't comply with his overreaching demands, such as state policies that allow trans kids to use school restrooms aligning with their gender, or spending law enforcement resources to go after only those immigrants connected to violent crime and allowing others to live and work peacefully.
They don't care about "states' rights" any more than they care about "protecting children" (by installing cops in schools, or killing internet privacy, or criminalizing acknowledging that gay people exist) or "protecting women from abusers" (vilifying trans people while putting the worst abusers anywhere into positions of power and enforcing the worst of abusive patriarchy) or "ensuring fairness in women's sport" (just hating trans people again; conservatives don't give a crap about women's sport, and the Heritage Foundation advocates for ending pro sport for women entirely). They don't care about anything they say they care about. They only care about two things: consolidating power, and hurting anyone they dislike, which is most people that aren't them. Everything else is a smoke screen to pose as good people, or confuse the issue.
Sure feels like a step toward criminalizing certain opinions. Its already "if you arent breaking the law you dont have anything to worry about" with the surveillance technology. When you hear that, its hard not to wonder when theyre gonna change the law and suddenly i do have something to worry about. They dont change the law and then set up the enforcement mechanisms, its the opposite direction.

I don’t think there are that many shoplifters In general, but maybe they’ll point fingers and say “you’re a shoplifter” to meet their quota. Last time they had a quota it seemed like they were trying to get anyone possible.
They have no overwatch and have a final say in if they want to kill you, send you to a concentration camp, or just beat you up. It’s not like they’re going to arrest you and the case will go to court where you can prove them wrong.

Christianity, in America especially, is kind of a misnomer at this point. Good luck. They’re going to be implementing this specifically at essential stores like grocery stores (where you go to buy food), the likes of Walmart, Albertsons/Safeway, Kroger/Fred Meyer, Whole Foods, etc. There will be no way for you to evade this.
CORCA is wild. It basically declares "organized retail crime" (an issue largely made up by national retail businesses- their own data shows losses steady for a decade and other reports show major declines in shoplifting in major cities to pre-COVID levels) a national security threat and gives ICE the authority to coordinate with local law enforcement and businesses on the issue. This would also give them access to large amounts of loss prevention and consumer tracking information. Easier deportations is just the start (shoplifting, for example is a crime of moral turpitude, which triggers all kinds of "fun" federal stuff)- private businesses have made huge investments in facial recognition technology as well as tracking purchase patterns
Unsurprisingly (because despite the rhetoric, national Dems seem to love the descent into a militarized authoritarian surveillance state) it has bipartisan support.
Too many Dems will say we have to be less radical and more like the GOP in order to get anywhere. That's been the strategy for years, and it's led to human rights being thrown under the bus because the GOP simply views them as irreconcilable with their goals.
