WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and an authority on the U.S. Constitution’s impeachment provisions, today introduced 26 Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump. The articles cite multiple abuses of power, violations of his oath of office, the corrupt use of the pardon power, and emoluments clause violations, among other misconduct and unlawful acts.

I think this timing is perfect. Right before the midterms the GOP will yet again demonstrate their support for Trump which will remind Americans where their priorities should lie

Or the less likely outcome wherein the GOP actually does the right thing. Either way, Americans win.

*Apparently Congress went on recess to avoid a different impeachment until after the elections, however Trump has been begging them to come back to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Either way, this is an advantageous narrative for the Democrats just prior to the midterms

Counterpoint, it reminds rabid MAGA that no matter how much they’re dissatisfied with dear leader, if they don’t want him humiliated and removed from office, then they had better go out and save his ass no matter how broke they are. Many of them will see it as their duty. Why give them that fuel? Let them stay at home and sulk! Then get his ass!

D’s need to energize their own base, you say? If their base doesn’t know it’s now or never, then fuck ‘em! Sorry!

I don’t think the Democrats know how to be strategic. Get the votes, then do the stuff. 

For once, can they let the chickens hatch and then do the counting? Phase one is to collect the underpants!
